With a lot of overpriced accommodation in Rome, this property was a catch. Under a 2 minute walk from the hotel you will be standing facing the Piazza Navona. No matter what time of day or night, it was an amazing experience.||||Location:||Restaurants and bars galore right outside the accommodation. Each and every sight in Rome is within walking distance and we only took a taxi from and to the airport. Always felt safe walking in the nights and there is so much to explore by foot!||||It might be a bit difficult to locate the property when you arrive, it took us about 10 minutes to figure it out. There are no big signs and the hotel rooms are located in what I believe is a residential building. When you do locate the entrance to check-in, you need to hit the buzzer for reception to let you in.||||Hotel and facilities:||The reception and rooms are located on the top floor (2nd or 3rd floor). There is a tiny old school lift which is just enough to fit two people or one person with luggage. We took the stairs most of the time which did not bother us.||||There is a tiny reception in the corridor leading to the handful of rooms. The receptionist was very friendly and provided plenty of recommendations. I also organised airport drop off through the hotel. The driver was on time and I was taken away in a fancy car.||||Breakfast:||It was bed and breakfast where the receptionist would prepare and bring a huge tray to your room each morning. It was fabulous! Loads of different kinds of croissants, breads, jams, nutella, butter, boiled eggs, fruit juice, coffee, etc. There was just so much food that we were never able to finish it.||||Room:||I have seen three rooms because my brother and sister-in-law stayed in one, and I stayed in two different rooms because I was moved to another room on my second last day. A bit of a hassle to be woken up and be asked to move rooms early morning because apparently the room I received was actually booked by other guests who were arriving that morning. It was no big deal because the new room was just as good.||||Rooms were clean, aircon and wi-fi worked fine and the bed was comfortable All rooms had windows either facing the beautiful lane ways or a courtyard. ||||No noise disturbances even though the property is in a touristy area because it is tucked away in a quiet lane.||||Bathroom:||Even though the bathrooms were clean, this is where I have an issue. First bathroom had a walk in shower which barely had enough room to move, and I am not a very big person. The second bathroom had a shower over a large spa tub but with no shower curtain so water splashed everywhere.||||The toilets was the main issue, not with cleanliness but on how they were placed. Definitely not much thought went into the placement of the toilet when this property was built. They were placed in weird angles very close to the wall which became a bit of an issue if you were planning on taking a seat. ||||Conclusion:||Overall I was satisfied with this property. I give 4 stars mainly because of the low price paid for an amazing location, decent size rooms and the delicious breakfast served by the very friendly...
Read moreI am very lenient with my ratings usually so for me to give a 1 star this was the most poor service I have experienced. I had booked this place for 3 nights for my first trip to Rome with my wife. According to google this place is a hotel however from outside there were no signs apart from the sign on the door like an apartment building. Inside there are 6 rooms on the first floor so basically like an apartment but with seperate rooms for guests. I was taken aback but thought to give this a chance. On arriving I was told that unfortunately my room was due for maintenance on my last day there and so I would have to shift rooms. No attempts were made to notify me of this circumstance and they had apparently made arrangements for me to move to this other hotel where they have a room for me for that night. As I had prepaid I told them that they should have told me in advance as I don't like to change hotels and asked if I could just shift to the other hotel for my entire stay but this was denied and in remedy they offered to waive the city tax and pay for my airport transfer. This is just poor service as they took my money and couldn't even bother to tell me they can't accommodate me for my whole stay. The guy at the desk was very apologetic and that's the only ounce of good service I felt for my trip. The room itself is a small room in need of some work and the shower is the smallest I have ever seen. If you were to raise your elbows in the shower you would hit the wall and the door at the same time The next morning breakfast came to the room with boiled eggs however the eggs turned out to be raw from the inside and not cooked at the slightest. I raised this with the manager and notified her that as I have a tour booked for the morning of the transfer to the other hotel I won't be able to change hotels till 3 pm and she said that would be fine to do at that time. However when the day of the move comes and I am ready to leave for my tour I was told by the guy at the desk to come by 1pm for the move. I told him I have a tour and I may not be able to and after much debate we settled on 2pm. This made me late for my Coliseum tour which again put a damper on the holiday. Lastly the hotel they transfered me to forgot to mention to me that the aircon in the room is broken so for my last night, in the height of summer I'm in a room with no ventilation, trying to sleep but failing on one of the hottest night. A nightmare experience I would avoid this place at all cost and would give zero...
