We ate here with my girlfriend in July 2015, the first restaurant we tried in Rome after our arrival in the evening. The staff was very friendly, a young Italian guy was very happy to see us there and practice his English because apparently not so many tourists came to that particular restaurant. The menu was of course only in Italian, which also guarantees that a restaurant is at least a bit more authentic than the ones in the most touristic areas. The waitress translated it to us to the best of his ability. For starters we had an antipasti served on a wooden blank containing delicious dried hams and variety of cheeses. For the main dish we chose this most amazing steak that was perfectly medium cooked, sliced, and topped of with big flakes of sea salt. With the steak only hard cooked potato chips seasoned with salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme was served - and it was perfect! Less is sometimes certainly more. The dinner was enjoyed with couple glasses of red wine to top it off.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Rome, when we go back some day, we will definitely pay a visit to this beautifully decorated restaurant with great...
Read moreGreat service and extensive wine list. The menu was fairly unique and seemed non-traditional. My wife got a salmon baked potato. It had cuts of raw salmon on top and a pesto sauce. She loved it. I got a steak. The waiter asked me if I wanted it "raw or medium". He strongly suggested that I have it medium, so I accepted that (raw meat didn't seem appetizing anyway). In hindsight I think he meant "rare", and he urged me to get it cooked medium because he could tell I was american and he figured we don't like rare meat. But it was cooked well done. I don't like well-done steak, but I ate it anyway and it was good. It had a nice sear on the outside and big flakes of salt. It was tender, and the fat wasn't chewy. It would've been perfect if it were cooked rare. I won't deduct a star for the miscommunication, though. All-in-all this was a great place that I'd...
Read moreGreat food and wine! Highly recommend the meat platter that costs €20 and the apple crumble dessert was also very tasty. Our waitress was really sweet and spent almost 10 mins translating the entire menu into English for us. We sat for about 4.5 hours there enjoying wine, beer, dinner and dessert. Had to remind our waitress on 2 occasions that we ordered a glass of wine or a bottle of water that she had forgotten about (place was packed and she was handling several tables) but we weren’t in a hurry and it didn’t bother us at all. We also had to waive her down to get her attention, but she always came over with a smile.... there were also other waiters who serviced our table throughout the night and they were also very nice. Felt welcomed and not rushed even though I speak no Italian and I HIGHLY...
