Spaghetto Roma — Restaurant in Rome

Maybe my experience is an isolated one, judging by other reviews.

The pasta is obviously fresh and good quality, you can see this being made and shaped in the window, which is good.

Unfortunately the dish I was served was lukewarm and the sauce was quite bland and basic (beef ragu). It also seemed quite watery, which meant the sauce just didn't really stick to the pasta.

My partner had the truffle sauce, which tasted good but again was quite watery and wasn't very hot.

I did notice that I was not offered any parmesan on top when collecting my food, whereas another customer later was. I was not even aware this was an option so felt kind of short changed, but not a big deal.

Overall it was fine for the price (€8), there was a good amount of food in the dish, but the watery sauce kind of ruined the experience and I felt a little underwhelmed, especially because other reviews...

Bland food. We had the tartufo and it really lacked depth of flavour. I'm not one who needs salt in everything, but it was so obvious that not even the pasta water had been salted, which frankly is a crime against pasta. You've got to season either the cooking water or the sauce, come on! We've eaten at a lot of takeway pasta bars while travelling Italy, all of which have been great and flavourful. This place was our first disappointment. Perhaps some of the other sauces are better but I've never experienced a bland tartufo before. The portion size to cost is great (€8), but I'd rather pay more to really enjoy my meal. The service was...

I never usually take the time to write a review for a place but this is an exception. If I could give it minus stars I would, we came for a quick dinner and in the space of 30 minutes 3 bowls of pasta where delivered to customers - 3 refunds followed straight after. There was 4 members of staff and somehow nothing was getting done. Having worked in hospitality I know when a ship is sinking - this place is at the bottom of the Tyrrhenian Sea. It got so bad that the owner ran outta money to give any more refunds.

That’s just the staff and service don’t start me on the food. When the ragu came out it was cold and lifeless...
