I wanted to share my experiance with this restaurant in Piazza Navona 17/07/2023 at around 12am. It was hot day about 39degrees. After a long walk My and my family decided to sit and eat at this place - Camillo. at the beginning everything seems nice, good music, nice garden and nice looking pink restaurant. But finally the workers were TRAGIC. I work in restaurant industry and i know some about service :) - While putting forks on the table I asked blond hair waiter - what she recommend from the menu , she answer me “I don’t know” , at least tell me whatever you like. I was the last one to choose the meal. That was first red flag for a restaurant worker. - Second red flag was, when my father ask for Coca Cola. We waited pretty long to someone serve us. Finally waiter came and took the order. Ha came back - he put on the table new glass with coca cola glass -and he left. Usually is the waiter job to open and pour for the guest. He didnt. He put on the table and he left. My father had to open himself a COCA COLA GLASS with our OWN lighter and pour it. Maybe he was a new waiter learning there ,but thats the BASCIS. - The 3rd Red Flag was ,when we asks for a bill. The final bill was for 78euro We gave 80euro Lady came back ,took the money ,took the bill and didnt give back the rest. I didnt say anything like „Please keep the change” so its the worker job to give back the rest of money. And if i like you i will may leave the tip !!! But thats GUEST CHOICE. & We keep waited… usually i give the tip but sorry the service was bad. So 2 waiters , lady which took the money and the other guy looked at us , they seemed confused Why we didnt left yet. Guy came and ask me „how can i Help you” 🤨 Then i understand, i wont receive my rest of money. So we left - UNHAPPY It was really weird experiance and service. It was my first time and last time being ever served like that in Rome, because everywhere i ate i left happy :) BONUS INFORMATION. PLEASE CHECK YOU BILL TWICE. After i get home i noticed there was a MISTAKE. - On the bill there was two glass of white wine. I dont know Where that come from. BECAUSE I drinked only ONE GLASS OF WINE. ONLY ONE !!!!! No one else did. Who knows if it was mistake or ON PURPOSE. CAMILLO DAl 1890 - Please contact me in any way you want i want my money back for that wine 7euro :) I accept paypal / revoult Best Regards Filip from Poland PS - my Cacio e Pepe pasta was so so SALTY. Couldn’t finish it :)

We had a truly wonderful experience at Camillo a Piazza Navona! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, right in the heart of Rome’s historic Piazza Navona. The highlight of our visit was definitely the exceptional service. We were lucky to be served by Francesco, who was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. He made us feel genuinely welcome, recommended dishes with great care, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. His kindness and good humor added so much to the experience and made us feel at home in a city that’s already so charming. The food itself was excellent – fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. We tried the carbonara, which was creamy and perfectly balanced, and the pizza, which had a wonderfully crisp crust and rich toppings. The dessert selection was also fantastic; we shared a classic tiramisu that tasted homemade and unforgettable. The location is beautiful, overlooking the vibrant Piazza Navona, so you can enjoy your meal with an amazing view of the fountains and the lively Roman atmosphere. Prices felt fair given the quality, the central location, and the exceptional service. All in all, we had a memorable dining experience that made our evening in Rome special. Thank you to Francesco and the whole team for making it so perfect! Highly recommend to anyone visiting Rome and looking for great food, a lovely setting, and outstanding service.

This restaurant was a disappointment and mostly because of the staff. We came around 2:30pm for a drink and some dessert. The restaurant was maybe 1/4 full so many tables available however the greeter was so rude! When we arrived I asked for a table for two and she asked if we were having lunch. I politely replied no because it is 2:30pm so we are having drinks and dessert. She said “we do not have space for YOU”. Which is absolutely ridiculous because the restaurant was almost empty. I impressed upon her, we are paying for cocktails and desserts and she relented and gave us a table but hovered around us the whole time making us feel uncomfortable. While we were there she treated many other couples the same way. We couldn’t believe how ridiculous she was - it’s not peak lunch time, you need occupants to fill your tables until dinner - what’s the problem with letting people come and pay for your overpriced drinks and desserts? As far as the food and drink goes, it was totally adequate at best but the staff needs to learn some manners.

The experience at the restaurant was unfortunately marred by the unprofessional behavior of the staff, which left a lasting negative impression. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted not with the warmth and hospitality one might expect, but rather with a dismissive attitude that set the tone for the rest of our visit. The restaurant was moderately busy, with approximately seven other groups dining at the time, which is not an unusual number for a popular eatery. However, this did not seem to deter the staff from treating us with a lack of respect and courtesy.

We requested a brief 15-minute break to fetch some water, a simple and reasonable ask, especially considering the warm weather and the fact that we had not yet placed our order. To our dismay, the staff responded with rudeness, making us feel unwelcome and inconvenienced. Their attitude was not only unprofessional but also completely unnecessary, given the circumstances. It was as if our request was an imposition, rather than a standard service that should be provided to all patrons.

As the evening progressed, the situation only worsened. When we decided to leave the restaurant, having not enjoyed our time there, the staff attempted to charge us for water that we had not even consumed. This was an outrageous demand, especially considering the earlier incident with the water request. We were taken aback by their audacity and the lack of understanding on their part. It was clear that the staff was more concerned with enforcing their policies than with ensuring customer satisfaction.

Reflecting on this experience, I am filled with sadness and disappointment. This restaurant, which once held a special place in my heart, has unfortunately transformed into a place where customer service is no longer a priority. The decline in the quality of service is evident, and it is disheartening to see a once-great establishment fall to such low standards. The staff’s behavior was not only unprofessional but also reflected poorly on the restaurant as a whole.

In conclusion, my recent visit to the restaurant was a letdown, largely due to the rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff. The experience was far from enjoyable, and it is unfortunate that a place with such potential has allowed its service to deteriorate to this extent. I hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and works towards improving the customer experience, as it is crucial for the restaurant’s reputation and future success. Until then, I am hesitant to return, as the recent experience has left a bitter taste...
