The Vista Rooftop Club — Restaurant in Rome

I have to share an experience. The restaurant is nice with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff is professional. Cocktails are excellent. The only thing that lags in this restaurant is the taste of the food. Although they look nice at first glance, we ordered a tasting menu with the request to avoid seafood, yet they still brought us sea urchin. We didn't eat it and returned it, expecting a replacement. There was none. As for the other dishes, they all lacked flavor. The chef apparently doesn't use spices or salt. I also expected the food to be served on a clean plate, which in three cases we had to wipe with a napkin. The weak point of this restaurant is the chef. Therefore, I give it 3 stars because when I go somewhere for a tasting menu, I expect quality, tasty, and perfect dishes on clean plates. The kitchen is the foundation of a restaurant, but not in this case. What also bothered me was the cleanliness of the toilet. Horrible. Rating for the toilet is 0. And what also bothered me were their stock supplies. Twice I heard from the waiter, "sorry, we don't have that anymore." This happened with a cocktail and later with a dessert. I hope they will reflect on my review and correct...

I recently visited The Vista Rooftop Club for a date on a Friday night, and while the evening started off well, there were a few disappointments.

The service was okay, and the prices were higher than usual, which is understandable given the touristy location. The dishes were presented beautifully, but the taste was underwhelming.

The main issue occurred just before closing time. Despite our bill totaling €170, the waiter began clearing our table at 23:53, even taking my date's glass, which still had a bit left. This left us with only one glass and gave us the impression that we were being hurried out. Considering it was a Friday night, this felt particularly abrupt and frustrating. A better approach would have been to gradually close parts of the restaurant and give a polite warning rather than making us feel rushed.

A very special evening at The Vista. We decided to treat ourselves to Aperol Spritz and enjoy the gorgeous view overlooking the rooftops of Rome, including the dome of the Pantheon.

We arrived at 6.30 and had our table for two hours which was perfect for aperitivi. Complimentary snacks were brought out with the spritz - as I’d mentioned I am vegan on the booking, the snacks they brought out were vegan, I didn’t even have to ask. Lovely attention to detail that made us feel so special. In particular the carrot canapé was spectacular (the aubergine canapé was also delicious).

Each and every staff member we met was super friendly and professional, and made us feel so welcome. Prices were extremely reasonable compared to other rooftop bars in Rome that we had researched before we booked. Although we didn’t order any food, some of the tables around us did, and it looked (and smelled!) fantastic.
