Trattoria San Lorenzo — Restaurant in Rome

I was really looking forward to coming here but I was so disappointed. I ordered the carciofi alla giuda which I absolutely hated because it was literally a burnt artichoke and there was barely any part of it that you could eat. A total waste of 5 euros. I don’t understand how they are okay with serving such a “dish”. I also ordered the gnocchi con crema di zucca. It took 35 minutes to arrive, and desperately needed salt. I also had to ask for Parmesan cheese. The sauce felt like it was from a can. I couldn’t actually taste the pumpkin / zucca. The cheese and salt I added was the only thing that gave it flavor. Also I asked for white wine and she initially brought me red, which is fine mistakes happen. But overall this restaurant experience sucked and I’m mad because I only had one night in Rome and I wasted lunch and 20 euros (!!) on this restaurant. Afterwards I was still very hungry so I went and got a sandwich at a nearby sandwich shop for just 6 euros and it was much better, but I was mad about the fact that I was forced to consume so much carbohydrates. If the zucca sauce wasnt totally tasteless the gnocchi would have been a good lunch on its own. Maybe other items on the menu are...

Esperienza deludente, servizio e cucina sotto la media

Mi sono recato in questo ristorante per un pranzo in famiglia, ma purtroppo l’esperienza è stata nel complesso deludente, sia per il servizio che per la qualità dei piatti.

Servizio: Abbiamo ordinato una bottiglia di vino bianco che ci è stata servita già stappata, senza nemmeno un bicchiere adeguato: ci è stato dato un semplice tumbler. Capisco che non si tratti di un ristorante di alta classe, ma almeno le basi del servizio andrebbero rispettate, soprattutto quando si parla di vino in bottiglia.

Piatti: Abbiamo ordinato dei paccheri ripieni con patate, baccalà e pomodoro, accompagnati da una crosta di parmigiano, oltre a una porzione di tonnarelli cacio e pepe. I paccheri avevano una consistenza gommosa e il ripieno era poco equilibrato: si sentivano solo le patate, mentre il baccalà e il pomodoro erano praticamente assenti. I tonnarelli cacio e pepe, invece, erano serviti in una salsa collosa, con un retrogusto che ricordava la maizena, simile più a un mac & cheese da supermercato americano che a un classico della cucina romana.

L’unico elemento positivo è stato il vino – di buona qualità – che però non siamo riusciti a gustare pienamente a causa della scarsa attenzione del personale. i piatti nel complesso sono ben presentati, ma l'aspetto conta poco...

Conclusione: Esperienza nel complesso mediocre. Considerata l’ampia offerta nella zona, consiglio di spostarsi di pochi metri per trovare osterie con qualità e attenzione...
