BLANDIS - Wine & Cafè — Restaurant in Siena

Blandis? always a good choice. I've stopped by every day for the last week for breakfast, for a sandwich on the go (try the one with liver, ricotta and sun-dried tomatoes, it's simply fantastic), a plate of pici cacio e pepe or a delicious aperitif. Inside the bar it says "Relax and take a break": well, nothing could be more true, it's a perfect place to do it and it's very close to the center of Siena. We had lunch before going up to Siena downtown. The panini was okay but I expected something coming out of a sandwich maker honestly and not only a bread with salami and cheese. The chicken salad consisted of oldish salad but it was fine overall. The portion was very small for 12€. The cheeseburger wasn’t good since the meat was premised and tasted like coming out of the microwave. The bacon wasn’t cooked through and the chips were literal potato chips and no fries...

Average food and coffee. I would recommend tourists something else for experience. We had capuccino with nutella, sienna coffee, sandwich and small sweet pastry with pistacchio. Sienna coffee is a very tasty espresso with a lot of sugar, capuccino is below average, sandwich is below average.

When paying they asked if everything was good. I said that the milk in capuccino tasted like it was burned. They gave me discount for that and apologized. Very nice, I did not...
