Food was not to be expected of (modest but plentiful). I was traveling solo. On several occasion in the past I felt resistance from restaurants' owners to appoint me a table contradictory to the meaning of Trattoria (a usually inexpensive or informal restaurant or eating-house). This place, they directed right to the back of the restaurant, the last table on the last wall of the last floor. Guess what the restaurant was empty. I was tired and the place was two doors from my accommodation. The waiter himself was ashamed of his owner but gave me an outstanding service to begin with and helped me with my Italian. All a long the so Called Trattoria Da Dino pretending to be completely booked was still completely emptied and I am now almost finished my meal. In the mean time they switched my server (the only reason I stayed because he made the experience bearable) to the one who send me to the cave in the first place, not very pleasant seeking for your money rushing you out the door. If you go there, do not go alone or in couple (they did the same to a couple a table away from me), make sure you are with a lot of people and that you are not looking for authentic Italian food contrary as it is specified in other reviews. The only pieces of the menu I had that felt authentic where the spinach and the tiramisu according to my family cuccina. He seemed to be surprised that I asked something else with the sienese polo. In my Italian roots we would never server a plate with just a piece of meat. I do not recommend except that I say thank you to the young waiter that help me with my English, that was genuine and attentive to the patron needs. He should be running the Ristaurente. The current owner should also change the name of the Trattoria to Ristorante da Dino D'Oro. That would characterize more what they really are. Grazie Mille R. J. Litalien DaStalla
Grazie Mille R. J....
Read moreIf you enjoy chewing your tartare di manzo for a few days before swallowing and being laughed at by ownership for voicing your feedback then you have found the right place to eat. I live in Tuscany and have had beef tartare a zillion times. The meat has to be tender and fresh to make it edible raw. The tartare here was so chewy that I legitimately couldn’t even get through a few bites before giving up. I tried to tell them and they didn’t want to believe it until the owner thought it would be a good idea to laugh at my feedback in front of my face. They are so incredibly unprofessional and if they are unwilling to accept critical feedback then their food will remain below average. I tried to do it privately, now I’ll tell the world publicly. This place is full of unfriendly staff from the waitress, to the cashier guy, to the chef....
Read moreLovely place that served exquisite food at a reasonable price. The charcuterie board for 2 was huge and has literally the beat cheese and salami we've had in Europe. I had the boar tagliatelle which was seasoned perfectly and had a generous portion size. My friend had the pork with grilled radicchio. She didn't like the radicchio simply because it was new to her however she said the pork was the best she had ever had and I must saw I'm close to agreeing. Our server was wonderful and gave us excellent...
