I honestly don’t know where to begin. First of all, the tiramisu was made with coffee cream – seriously? Since when does anyone make tiramisu with coffee cream? That’s not only wrong, it’s downright offensive to the dessert. To make things worse, the ladyfingers were hard as rocks. I could’ve broken a tooth.
As for the cocktail – it was smaller than a shot glass, and they charged 10€ for it! I thought I was hallucinating. Just awful.
I actually really enjoyed my trip to Lake Garda, but this bar completely ruined the experience. I make tiramisu at home a thousand times better – and I’m not even Italian. Honestly, I’m not even sure the people running this place are Italian. I’ve never had anything like this before – and not in a good way.
Even the tiramisu from Hofer (Aldi) tastes better than this disaster.
Since they clearly don’t know how to make a proper tiramisu, here’s a real recipe – without coffee cream:
Classic Tiramisu (No Coffee Cream, Just the Real Deal)
Ingredients:
3 large eggs, separated 100 g (1/2 cup) granulated sugar 250 g (1 cup) mascarpone cheese 200 g (approx. 24) ladyfingers (savoiardi) 200 ml (3/4 cup) strong brewed espresso, cooled Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting) Optional: a splash of Marsala wine or dark rum (in the espresso) Instructions:
Whip egg yolks with sugar until thick and pale. Add mascarpone and mix until smooth. Whip egg whites in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the mascarpone mixture. Dip the ladyfingers briefly into the espresso (with or without liqueur), one at a time. Do not soak them – they should be moist but not soggy. Layer dipped ladyfingers in a dish, then spread half the mascarpone cream on top. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream. Chill for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Dust with cocoa powder just before serving.
Save yourself the disappointment and just make it at home. Trust me – you’ll be...

The quality of the food and how it was presented was exceptional. This relaxing picturesque location on the lake with attentive staff and fantastic views, make for a perfect lunch time destination when exploring Sirmione. Highly recommend visiting here after visiting Castello Scaligero nearby, before heading down the shoreline path for a leisurely stroll to Grotto...
Read moreStaff here were friendly and welcoming. Food was excellent and of good value. My sister and I shared a pizza and salad and it was outstanding. The only downside is smoking is allowed and people next to us were smoking while we were eating which affected us. We will go back but maybe the bar would benefit from a non smoking area( which maybe they but I didn’t ask) I wish this area would ban smoking in public eating areas as...
