Marghe — Restaurant in Sirmione

1. the menu on the site does not match the à la carte one, both for the dishes presented and ESPECIALLY for the prices. If on the website it is indicated that the cutting boards are 16/18€, on the card they become 25/35€

2. We ordered two pizzas, one called Piccante and one Mazara. The spicy IN THEORY had on top: Nduja, spicy Calabrian salami, chilli gel, stracciatella, San Marzano tomato. Instead I get a pizza with: the salami was that of the poor quality supermarket that gave me nausea, Ndujia not even the shadow, stracciatella not received, soaked in oil and with burnt and rubbery dough. at 15 euros? (I'm Calabrian, I know what I'm talking about when we say Nduja and spicy salami). The mazara cost 22 EURO, so you expect excellent quality and instead it was a heap of shrimp, stracciatella and zucchini without any balance between the so contrasting tastes; Alias, it tasted like everything and nothing.

3. we take two decafs to which they add 4 "butter" biscuits as an accompaniment: the biscuits were tasteless, the coffee disgusting, dirty water that we left there (and I'm not kidding) served in glass / plastic cups.

4. cover charge 3 euros? The bathroom was like one in an autogrill of scarse quality

5. the bill, for water, two pizzas, two so-called coffees: 52.50. Does it seem normal to you?

The good stuff: My pizza was extremely good, simple with char in all the right places, very tasty indeed. They also had a wine specialist who recommended a very nice bottle for us. It was 28 euro so generally a lot more than I would have normally spent on a bottle of wine in Italy but with a little bit of research I found that it was actually very good value for what you would likely spend if you were to but it in a supermarket (roughly 20 euro).

The bad stuff: My girlfriend got the cuttlefish squid ink pasta with prawns which she wasn't mad about, the prawns themselves were raw which the menu didn't state so it was a bit of a surprise, she does like seafood tartare so that was fine but if I had ordered it I would have trouble with it. Also the portion size was very small so she needed some of my pizza to fill up.

Overall it was a good experience but there are too many other restaurants in Sirmione to try out so I don't think I would even consider...

Ci siamo fermati a mangiare in questa ottima pizzeria durante il nostro soggiorno a Sirmione. Il locale si presenta molto elegante e ricercato. I camerieri al nostro arrivo sono stati molto cortesi e accoglienti. Abbiamo ordinato due cocktail come accompagnamento per pasteggiare. Questo locale propone una selezione di cocktail particolari e molto buoni. Abbiamo mangiato una pizza margherita, una perenoci ed una pomodoro. Le pizze erano molto buone e merita andarci solo per quelle anche se propongono anche un'ottima scelta di primi e secondi. Per concludere la cena abbiamo chiesto la lista dei dolci, e, dopo aver comunicato le nostre scelte, ci hanno detto che su proprio quei due erano state fatte delle modifiche rispetto a quanto scritto nel menù, ma abbiamo deciso di prenderli lo stesso. Il primo dolce che abbiamo scelto è un dolce a base di limone, buonissimo! È stato un ottimo conclusione pasto. Fresco e leggero! Il secondo dolce era una rivisitazione del tiramisù. Non posso dire che questo è stato altrettanto buono, a causa di troppe lame di cioccolata fondente, che andava a coprire tutti i sapori oscurando quasi completamente quello del mascarpone. Quando ci hanno chiesto se andava tutto bene dopo aver concluso il dessert, abbiamo fatto i complimenti al primo dolce ma abbiamo fatto notare il difetto del secondo. Questo non è stato molto gradito poiché non ci ha quasi fatto finire di parlare ( anche se abbiamo detto solo due parole ) e da quel momento in poi quando la cameriera veniva al tavolo a malapena ci guardava, un atteggiamento molto scortese di fronte a dei clienti che hanno fatto molti complimenti per tutta la cena ad eccezione del secondo dolce. Quando è arrivato il conto abbiamo notato che il dolce da noi non pienamente gradito non era presente. Sono stati molto professionali anche se la nostra critica non voleva portare ad un risultato così drastico. Abbiamo apprezzato il gesto ma si preferiva un trattamento cortese per tutta la cena.
