We chose this fantastic hotel for a one week stay as part of our honeymoon, and we weren't disappointed!
We arrived by ferry as we'd got the train from Venice. This meant that as we approached Sirmione, we spotted our hotel straight away. This was a brilliant start, as it took the stress out of finding it for us. When we left after a fabulous week, the taxi we'd booked before our stay managed to find us, although they had parked a bit further away. If in doubt, ask how to get to the hotel!
The staff were very helpful when we arrived, and the reception area is cool (a must in summer!) and welcoming. Our room was fantastic, with a BIG bed, complete with memory foam mattress, plenty of space for clothes in the wardrobe, a good mini fridge with space for a few of our own bits and a decent tv too.
The bathroom was very bright with a fantastic shower. Everything was immaculate and the rooms were tided and cleaned daily, unless we asked them not to.
The staff themselves were very friendly, and did everything they could to help! On our first night, we didn't feel like going out as one of us had a bit of a headcold. Luckily, the staff were able to organise for me to order a pizza each up to our room with a full choice of restaurant food options. The food itself arrived quickly and was lovely.
Unfortunately on our first full day here, we were struck with a 24 sickness bug, which wasn't great. But this does mean we stayed in our room all day, and it was perfect for relaxing. Our lake view balcony meant we could people watch from the bed, the tv kept us entertained, and the mini-fridge gave us a snack when we needed one.
We stayed here on a bed and breakfast rate. The breakfast was fantastic, with a wide range of foods served buffet style. There were a few hot options, and plenty of pastry, continental options too. A perfect start to the day.
Overall, we really couldn't fault this amazing hotel. The service was friendly and good. The location was amazing, as was the room.
If we ever return to Sirmione, we'd stay here. If anyone else we knew was going, we'd...
Read moreWe last visited Lake Garda eight years ago and stayed in Desenzano, but every time we stopped on the ferry in Sirmione we fell in love with it and decided when we return it will be here and i pinpointed the Eden - and it really didnt disappoint!|Everything (with one exception i will mention later) was fantastic, from the position next to the ferry stop and right on the main square to the staff and comfort.||Its a boutique hotel, so obviously smaller in size, but there is plenty of terrace tables for drinks and sunbeds for those lazy hot days to just sit virtually on the lake soaking up the sun.||The room/bed was very comfortable with a great rainfall shower and the usual amenities.|Breakfast either inside or out was plentiful with the usual hot and cold typically Italian offers of cheeses, meats, breads and sweet cakes.|But for me the best was the large jug of the most terrific coffee served by the really lovely ladies in the restaurant.|Every member of staff on the front desk was just so helpful with making arrangements etc and a big thank you to Robert in the afternoons who helped me with my Italian.|So finally to the one exception i mentioned and the only negative.|We stayed in a lake front quality room where there was plenty of hanging space but only one shelf for everything else, so sadly tee shirts etc were just in piles which meant we had to call for an ironing board to iron the creases out....but that would in no way stop us from returning to the Magical...
Read moreJust returned from an 8 day stay at the Hotel Eden, and we would without question recommend it. When we booked we were a little worried that its location would make it a bit noisy, but we shouldn’t have worried. We had a room on the top floor overlooking the square and the lake and there was no issue with noise whatsoever . On the contrary, the location is brilliant. Next to the ferry stop and slap bang in the middle of the old town with its dozens of restaurants and shops. |The hotel itself was a traditional small Italian hotel, with comfortable and reasonably sized room ( enough wardrobe space for 2 large suitcases of clothes) and bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is a fairly good Italian style buffet with a good selection of cold meats cheeses etc. but don’t fill up too much, as you won’t have room for lunch in one of the great restaurants nearby!|The ferry stop being next door is really handy as you can keep an eye on the length of the queues and hop on one of the frequent ferries to explore other towns on the lake. |Sirmione old town itself is lovely although it does get busy during the day ( especially on weekends) with day trippers but it quietens down in the evenings when they depart in...
