We came down the lift to take a look at the Marina Piccola - I have a sore hip after hiking around Italy for the last 7 weeks trying to rest it so no way was I walking down and back up again the lift cost around a €2 return too easy We made our way to Peter’s Beach which wasn’t that busy around 10.30 -11am for a Friday morning so had choice of of day lounges where we wanted to lay for the day, so once we worked out the best place to be to get the most out of the sun but also have some shade with the umbrella we set up camp for the day WOW is all I can say what a fun day swimming here was just the best. The water is so clean not full of pebbles etc we opted to be up on deck not on the beach .. we had a step ladder to walk down into the gorgeous sheltered beach This is what an Italian holiday is for days like this and I know it’s pricey but what the heck you don’t do this often and probably won’t be back so we went for it

I wish I had paid for a Sorrento towel to keep as paid €4 to hire a white towel

Anyway I now realised what would I do with a wet beach towel back at the B&B as no where to wash it or hang it

Now we read the reviews and has mixed feeling about this place which was rather disconcerting as we thought gee perhaps this isn’t the right place for us we are in our mid 60’s

Reviews of dirty toilets, overpriced food awful food rude staff etc was really turning us off

But all I can say is we didn’t experience any of this at all

We had friendly helpful service that accommodated where we wanted to sit even helping with the sun direction The waiter who took our food n drinks order was very agreeable friendly polite

And the food was so fresh it was lovely we just kept it simple we ordered the potato fries which were different to our fries but none the less really delicious with the mayonnaise We shared a Tiger Panini so fresh it was delicious Our Aperols were pricey setting us back $15 Aussie dollars each

It’s an experience that we won’t do often or be back here to visit so I’m glad we have done it

Met some lovely people from Canada and we chatted most of the day

Watch out for the bees they love...

These guys are just awful and do so much to ruin the experience of other places’ customers. They are first in the line of beach places to go to but no way the best. Enthusiastic woman in red t -shirt (the boss?) passionate about the place but without justification. Stopped for a beer. Around the most expensive on the strip. Utterly miserable bar staff (compare with the next few places). To be fair, toilets were clean. Sun beds etc far from the cheapest. Lunch menu poor. Like next to nothing on it. Cous cous or a rice dish as house specialty. What? Had three beautiful seafood lunches in the next places and seen everyone eating all sorts. No cous cous in site elsewhere. Nothing wrong with cous cous but can’t be your signature dish. Forgive all that until the noise starts up ruining everyone’s day. Unable to attract anybody (beer and sun bed price and cous cous) they set up a club anthem set around lunchtime that can be heard all the way up the entire coast. Not what you want next door for lunch, a chat, a sleep etc. Don’t go here - walk by to places that are better. Red t-shirt boss - yours isn’t the best, never do that afternoon music, and get a menu and chef. Then we’ll...

I was apprehensive to visit here following the reviews but I did so anyway. Fortunately, my experience was lovely! I arrived around 10am and it was pretty much empty, and I didn’t have to book beforehand. A sunbed is €25 or alternatively a deck chair is €20.

I didn’t have any rude staff thankfully, however one lady in particular was intolerant, impatient and snotty after I walked past the welcome point to pay (I was trying to find a staff member as nobody was manning the payment desk).

A lovely man showed me my sunbed, and as he set it up it broke. He took full responsibility for the state of the beds, realised they weren’t great, and showed me to another. It suddenly became very windy as he did so and the bed broke again. So he took me to another bed, which was fine, this time on the beach. He was lovely and very accomodating, setting me up with a menu to order from for later also.

4 stars because the deck chairs are in questionable condition and I would recommend checking them before you commit to one. And the lady who initially welcomed me as mentioned was rude. Other than this, I had a...

Peter’s Beach club area was amazing! It is situated at the right hand side of the port and is very accessible. I was in Sorrento for 5 days and we went to Peter’s Beach for 3 of them. We paid €20 each for the use of a sun lounger on the rocks and it was worth every penny having somewhere to set our stuff and chill out and read a book. The staff were very friendly and attentive and assisted us with anything we needed. On one of the days we had lunch at the restaurant part of Peter’s beach and we got the quinoa and vegetable salad bowls and they were delicious. Peters beach was very well priced and there was a great atmosphere in the area. It is €16 for a deck chair and €6 for use of an umbrella. You can access the beach through the lift down to the port or you can walk down the pathway, either way is very accessible. The opening hours when we were there where 9am-7pm.

First, there's a baffling policy in place: you pay the full price for sunbeds and an umbrella but are only allowed to use the back-row chairs. The front ones are reportedly reserved for locals. If seating is restricted, the pricing should reflect that—it felt unfair and poorly communicated. At the connected restaurant, Peter Beach, we were told we couldn’t sit without a reservation, despite nearly all the tables being empty. We later spoke to another couple who were seated without a reservation, which left us feeling even more confused. To top it off, my son’s chicken cutlet was served undercooked. The server was apologetic, but the kitchen just re-fried the same piece and sent it back with cold fries. Unfortunately, not the level of service we’re used to back in the U.S., where restaurant standards and hospitality are top notch!
