We went yesterday to a “luxury” restaurant for a dinner with lots of coocking technics so we decided to do it easy today and try “street food”. We were recomended to go to Caseificio Borderi but when arrived, it was closed for several days... So we had two opportunities in the same street with the same food style: - la Lysca Cucina or L’Isoletta. Considering that la Lysca looked little more like a restaurant, we decided for L’Isoletta beeing more simple! We will never regret our choice! Started with an octopus salad witch was tender and tastefull. My parents wanted to drink a glass of white wine but was served only by full size bottle. For 18€ they had an organic delicious white wine! As main dish, we all choose something different! All were better than the other choice! Look at the pictures... Total price paid was really street priced! Conclusion: you don’t have to chose expensive restaurants to eat well in Siracusa (Ortigia).

We went here to try another place in the fish market area. They have a stand also that sells fried seafood in cone and I believe some packaged octopus salad but we decided to sit down. I I had the octopus salad and my husband had the clam pasta. The octopus salad was okay and the pasta was delicious. Portions were a bit smaller than other places we have been to. Overall, not a bad place to stop by when you are at the market.

We got the grilled calamari & seafood pasta which was great. Awesome staff. When we got our bill they added €2/person service charge and in no way was it mentioned on thier menu. I am assuming they added it because we were tourists which I don't think is reasonable. Tax and service charge is already included in food price so not sure why the additional service charge was added. Overall amazing food.

Judging by the other reviews, we were extremely unlucky ... or something's gotta give. Came to Isolotta for dinner on Monday night. Food arrived less than five minutes after we placed our order (including supposedly roasted potatoes, definitely reheated in a microwave). Fried calamari were chewy and flavourless, grilled tuna simply tasted "fishy". Don't get me started on the potatoes.

The chefs got into a fight with someone (flying frying pans etc) right as we were served our food.

Once the commotion was over we let the staff know we weren't happy with the food, we were simply told "Sorry, you're the only ones, the tables around you all seem satisfied". No apology, no attempt to correct. Just presented us with the...

We ended up here because it was close to our hotel. The location is great, and the staff were friendly and spoke English well, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The tuna steak was far too thin and one of the worst we’ve had — I had to send it back because it simply couldn’t be cooked properly. The calamari was just okay, but lacked flavor. The pasta with clams was decent, but that’s a dish that’s hard to get wrong. Bread was also below average . The house white wine was also disappointing compared to other places we visited. Overall, we wouldn’t return, as there are many better...
