Small but brilliant selection of beer on tap including an Italian Christmas beer that our host specifically recommended, which is right this second richly entertaining us. The food was absolutely excellent; I had a trofie dish that was cooked perfectly, smooth and flavoursome, and we shared a dessert of palachinke that was perfect in its texture. This pub-restaurant is both a tribute to the marriage of Balkan and Italian food culture and an excellent place to find genuinely good craft beer in Trieste. And the host...

Aspettative disattese, forse le stelle sommate su google sono per le birre e non per il cibo e prezzo. Cevapcici (i peggiori che abbia mangiato fino ad oggi...) 15€ serviti con patatine CHE NON HO PRESO MA HO PAGATO LO STESSO. Costine (4 di numero) con qualità inferiore ai grandi fast food e della salsa bbq manco l'ombra (in teoria dovevano essere gassate dal menu) palesemente bollite e poi ripassare, servite con patate in tecia CHE NON HO PRESO MA PAGATO LO STESSO. Hamburger non era male 10€. Formaggio fritto ok, peperoni fritti ok. 1 birra media, 1 Coca, 1 birra lattina Totale 75€. Ora dico...se al cameriere durante l'ordinazione chiedo se i contorni di patate dei cevapcici e costine si potessero sostituire con altri contorni fritti, ovviamente specificando di pagare eventuali maggiorazioni, l'ordine arriva con quanto "richiesto" e poi alla cassa con titolare e tanto di cameriere a fianco mi viene fatto pagare tutto a prezzo pieno compreso quello che NON HO MANGIATO, oltre alla qualità del cibo molto bassa...mi ha molto disturbato. Di certo io non divento povero e voi nemmeno ricchi ma dalle mie parti, Italiano come voi, l'onestà e la parola ancora vale qualcosa. Peccato che in una città bella e piena di storia ed eroi quali i triestini, sia inciampato in questo locale che a mio modesto avviso non rappresenta né una buona cucina né un modo professionale di svolgere un attività nei confronti di turisti. In tutta la città invece ci siamo trovati come a casa e molto ben recepiti con ottimi...

Such an amazing experience, from the moment we walked in the door. We have been to Italy three times and we have travelled all over the country and this was the best Carbonara I have EVER tasted! The service was incredible, the whiskey was fantastic the food was 10/10! The guys serving us made such an effort to entertain our baby boy, too! I will eat here, whenever I am back in Trieste for sure!
