Loved it there! It was a great feeling to sit at the tables outside at the restaurant. Such a cozy and authentic Italian style there. We got great service by the owner Ivan who was very patient with indecisive customers like us and was great at recommending food and wine for us. My wife is a vegetarian and there was plenty of wonderful options of food for her. The prices were also very reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

The servers were super nice and welcoming. Gave us suggestions and presented us with the dishes of the day which included these wonderful truffle pasta. The strudel was amazing but the tiramisu advertised as Guinness's wasn't super strong taste.

Best meal we’ve had in 4 days in Trieste. Super tasty dishes you don’t necessarily see at other restaurants in the city. Service was also great as were the wine recommendations. Headed back again tomorrow evening!

I had been in Trieste for several days for business and for various reasons had not had a nice dinner yet. Several places I wanted to go to were closed on a Tuesday, so I settled for Osteria Da Marino because it was 5 minutes from my hotel. I decided to have 3 courses. The first was probably the best in retrospect but I was disappointed when I got it. It was basically Italian carnitas without the spices with 4 pieces of crostini. It was inoffensive but also nothing anyone anywhere would get excited about. The second course was a tagliatelle with rabbit. I'm 99% certain the rabbit was from a can -- it had that weird canned meat texture. It could have been cat food for all I know given how bad it was. And the dish was shockingly salty. And I don't mind salt. So... pasta plus salty canned meat plus a little cream. That's the second course. The third was veal with pureed celeriac. The veal had absolutely no flavor at all. It wasn't a piece of veal, but was cut in very thin little pieces and as a result was, of course, overcooked and dry. It was terrible. It had a very sad attempt at a balsamic glaze drizzled over it, which at least gave me some respite from bite after bite of flavorless overcooked dry veal bits. Then there was the celeriac. The flavor and texture were OK, especially considering that it was obviously microwaved. The veal was just a little over warm, and the celeriac was molten lava hot. This happens when you microwave a puree with a lot of butter in it on the same plate as dry bits of meat. Not only could they not be bothered to prepare my food to order, they couldn't even bother to heat it up in the microwave properly. I will say that the wine was quite good -- by far the best part of the meal. I was annoyed after the terrible food to be charged 0.50 for a carafe of tap water (the waiter even referred to it as tap water as he put it on my table) but showed up in my bill as "mineral" water. I've eaten at 2 other places in this alley, and they're both better at a fraction of the cost. Do yourself a favor and...

NEVER AGAIN!!!! I would like to say from beginning all are from Trieste,

We sit at the empty table outside, we were 8 Person and we took 3 bottle alcohol for the beginning. After we decide to eat something there they said us they have only sandwich(panini) with prosciutto cotto. They don’t have another food for 8 person. When our food were ready, the waiter came and said us to get up from our table becouse will come another customers( they are 10) who reserved a table. It was around 20:30-20:45… at this time we were chatting and eating our food. They said it is not necessary that we are there, we have to get up from our table eat and drink our bottle on the foot + this customers are here for dinner.

They took us to another table which is for 4 person normally and said us to continue they and table was veeery dirty. In this time we took another bottle and 20 minutes later they said us to move from that table also, it means they kick us of from restorant without reason.

All of us traveled a lot in the world and we ate also in very good restorant and we never had a this type of discriminatory workers, un respectful, unorganised service ( there was no sign on this table about...
