Fontana del nettuno, come no, senza acqua come tutte le fontane di questa città. Nettuno Dio del mare, di tutte le acque e dei naviganti, si erge su una conchiglia posta al centro della vasca, viene rappresentato con una fluente barba, la mano sinistra impugna il tridente simbolo della divinità, mentre la destra si appoggia su un doppio riccio di gusto barocco raffigurante un'onda spumeggiante, alla base ai piedi tre cavalli, animali sacri alla divinità, dalla bocca dei quali sgorga l'acqua.

Giovanni Mazzoleni fu il creatore di questa fontana. La fontana viene posta nell'allora piazza della Dogana, chiamata così perché l'unico edificio esistente, posto dove oggi sorge il Palazzo del Tergesteo, era quello della Dogana (1750-1754).
