Mille e una notte — Restaurant in Trieste

The food was delicious, we loved it. Great choice of vegetarian and meat based dishes. This was our first time in the city and during our first night (a sunday night) we went in this restaurant. We are not locals or italiens so we used english as our communication language, no problem at all from both parties. After 2 days, we went back (a tuesday night) since we loved the place for the first round. However for some strange and unknown reason the very same staff behaved completley different. After each and every round at our table they always spoke italien to us and we always had to 'start' our conversation in english again. One of the waiters accidentally knocked our bottle of water which was spilled out around the half of it and we recieved neither a sorry or a replacement water.. We are from Europe, we know how to behave in a restarurant. Also we were not sure, that they don't welcome us (based on these little acts of behaviour) or they just simply don't care.. The huge difference between a sunday and tuesday night service level was shocking to us.. sad, because the food was...

DISCLAIMER i do not have alot of references for authentic Lebanese food so take this review w a grain of salt. Lamb cutlet: 7/10. I liked the slight citrusy/tangy sauce that cut thru the meat. The potatoes, however, were quite salty and the lamb could use more char. Dumplings stuffed w cheese and spices: 5/10. the flavor is okay but texture was all mush. Not sure if its supposed to be this way? Egg plant dip: 7/10. Was fine except they used italian olive oil that has a distinctively tart flavor that was quite distracting

Finally, after two years of speaking about it we were able to go to Mille e una Notte. Everything was delicious. We obviously took a mix of mezze for starters and I was already full by the end of that part. But the main courses were worth trying, even though I was not able to finish the whole plate. I personally did not need half a plate of potatoes, but they were appreciated by the rest of our group. Nothing is left behind. The only thing I would love to have is a glass of their wines but unfortunately the wine is only...
