OGGI Officina Gelato Gusto Italiano — Restaurant in Trieste

First things first - GELATO at this place is AMAZING. We came across by this gelateria by chance, knowing nothing about the city, only that we want some ice-cream. Some really good Italian, homemade gelato.

Oh boy, we couldn't even imagine what a great experience we'll get. Not only that we tried such delicious ice cream and sorbet, we got a whole story behind it.

It was in the middle of the night, almost midnight, and the place was still open, with people choosing their favourite flavours. We entered this open space fully covered with glass. On the other side of the counter was the owner. Unfortunately, we didn't ask for his name but he was so friendly, sincere and patient to answer all those questions we had. Also, you could see this person genuinely enjoys his job and more importantly, he is absolutely passionate about it. I loved listening all those information I knew nothing about. Also, most of the flavours are made from local ingredients and from seasonal fruits growing nearby. Milk is also local.

So, the only thing we could conclude that every flavour is of top quality with richness of aroma and almost divine taste. These people know how things get done.

I will never look on the ice cream with the same...

I had the most delightful experience enjoying authentic Italian gelato recently, and it wasn’t just the gelato that made it special — the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable.

The gelato itself was pure perfection. Creamy, smooth, and bursting with rich, natural flavors. I tried the pistachio, stracciatella, and mango — each one tasted fresh and homemade, with just the right balance of sweetness. You could really tell that high-quality ingredients were used.

But what truly made it memorable was the staff. They were warm, patient, and happy to offer samples so I could find my favorite flavor. Their genuine passion for what they do made the whole experience feel personal and inviting.

If you’re ever in the mood for a sweet treat with a side of great service, Italian gelato is the way to go. Highly recommend stopping by — both your taste buds and your mood...

I’ve spent 7 weeks in Italy and I eat gelato everyday. My husband says I would be in the top 1% of Italian gelato eaters in Australia.

I always hunt for the best places and I’m always satisfied. Until I came to this place and I realised that everything I’ve eaten pales in comparison.

I cannot convey how creamy and delicious this gelato is. We visited 4 times in 2 days and I tried 8 flavours, each better than the last. I have never had chocolate so perfectly balanced, it tasted like a creamy mousse.

They are passionate about gelato and the freshness of the ingredients. I would ask you please to open a shop in Sydney, Australia. You would do so well.
