Nice place with sweet owners, a funny story to their name and big portion’s of pasta, but unfortunately nothing special.
For the price it’s good value, a big plate, freshly made, for a low price. But personally, I make better and more special pasta’s myself, and I am even Dutch. We had the salsiccia and another one, a sort of twist to the carbonara, forgot the name.
I personally always cut the salsiccia’s open and fry them like minced meat, that gives more flavor and divides the meat better, here they were sliced. And I eat fresh pasta at home, I have the feeling this wasn’t freshly made but just good quality pasta from a package.
Another thing that surprised me, was to see on the menu, that they serve the carbonara with cream!? I make it like that too, because I prefer that, but I’ve always learned real carbonara is never made with cream!?
A nice detail is, you only get a fork, like you should get 😊
For the elderly amongst us, the toilet is a whole in the ground, very oldskool!!

Read moreThis place is just fantastic- a bit quirky with the decor but absolutely excellent food and service. The place has been here for 35 years! It’s a husband and wife team who do everything- the lady does ‘front of house’ while her husband cooked the most delicious pasta dishes. There are six different types of pasta, and each type has a section of options available. Service is quick and super efficient and friendly, and the price is extremely reasonable. The decor is super-fun with an Indigenous Native American theme, with varies memorabilia pieces on the walls. It’s located next to the Jewish synagogue in a...
Read moreI chose this place because of the good reviews, and I was not disappointed. This place feels like you are coming to have lunch in someone’s living room. The pastas are delicious and the prices are so reasonable. The owner who served us, shared a story with us of how the place began with its theme— a gift when the place opened turned into this fully decorated restaurant! The food was fantastic, I would definitely return if I’m ever in Trieste again. This is a must! Within less than a half an hour of the place being open it was packed full of...
