My partner and I went for the four-course degustation menu, each choosing different dishes, which gave us a great opportunity to sample a wide range. The crab dish was by far the highlight—beautifully balanced and full of flavor.
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to that initial promise. The dishes, while creative, often felt disjointed and lacked cohesion. As a Spanish person and a longtime lover of toro and atún de almadraba, I found the tuna belly dish particularly disappointing—it was poorly cut, which really affected the texture and overall enjoyment.
The steak tartare barely tasted like meat, and though the skirt steak was quite good on its own, the cold, mismatched sides did it no favors. Similarly, the calamarata pasta felt like two separate dishes served on one plate—much like the oyster and guanciale, which had no real relationship with one another.
Plating also felt outdated for a place aiming to be high-end. It’s the kind of restaurant that might appeal more to those who aren’t especially into food. While the four-course menu is reasonably priced, the execution didn’t justify the cost. I left disappointed, wanting more thoughtfulness, technique, and harmony...
Read moreService was mostly absent. We sat over empty plates for 30 minutes before anyone cleared them and then it was another 10 minutes till we were offered a dessert menu. The meal was okay but not great. The amuse was fine and the appetizers were okay. The pastas were not great. Both were dry and the fillings felt cold and it just lacked the magic that a good primo piatto should have. The mains were not good. The steak was dry and bland, and he turbot was completely overwhelmed by the two emulsion sauces and the strong smoke flavors. We poured our own wine all night and no one ever checked on us. We had two much better dinners in Torino this week and will not be returning to Razzo. Lastly there were no vegetarian options on the whole menu. At all! Also sitting under a giant painting of a guy giving the finger was confusing. Is this supposed to be a super alternative punk place? The room felt otherwise very typical and the music was like hotel lobby music so I didn’t really understand what vibe they were going for. Sorry guys...
Read moreThey didn't even bother to show up. Made our reservation five weeks in advance and received an email confirmation at that time. Two weeks prior to the reservation, received a reminder. Two days before the reservation, received a reminder including the comment that they might refuse to seat us if all four of our party did not show up. Arrived ten minutes before our 8 pm reservation to find Razzo shuttered and dark. Called them and were told they were closed to attend an event in another town??? And finally, I kid you not, at 9:20 that evening we received an email canceling our 8 pm reservation. Service of this quality does not deserve anyone's business. Time stamp in email screenshot attached. The two fingered salute “Rudo” poster they featured on communications seems to be the way they feel about their customer. And how we...
