Terrible service. Entered the café as my father wanted a cup of coffee, but the barista/bartender assumed that we were there to use their toilet (which we were not) and proceeded to close the toilet door to show us that we were not welcomed. Upon ordering a cup of cappuccino, she rudely informed us that since we only ordered one cup of coffee, only one of us is allowed to use their toilet even though we had no intention of using their toilets in the first place. Read moreIt’s a beautiful Venice bacaro right next to Sr Marks square that is not touristy enough to make you uncomfortable and gives you imaginative tapas options and a very good set of wines by the glass.
The cicchetti were great no mater whether it was just sheep’s cheese with pear mostarda, sausage with pesto or some crazy vegan concoction of dried, cooked and raw vegetables or Gorgonzola and anchovies.
The wine was certainly good and quite reasonably priced with both classical and natural options to entertain almost every kind of a customer.
The people running the show are young, cheerful, helpful and caring.

Day 2 in Venice, we happened upon Ai Do Leoni, and it’s safe to say…it’ll be “our spot”. A few steps off Saint Mark’s Square, this place has great drinks, cicchetti, and more importantly-staff. Rubin was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable-I had ordered an Aperol Spritz, to which he suggested the Venetian Select…and it was wonderful!!
