Bar Gelateria al Ponte — Restaurant in Venice

Delicious home made ice cream, nice atmosphere with locals, good value for money, friendly service except for a young lady who seemed to be a bit in a bad mood. Which is ok. It happens to all of us. Hygiene has room for improvement. Toilet was dirty, watertap was not working well. A customer entered with her dog. The not so happy girl at the counter suddenly became very happy and started hugging the dog grabbing it with her hands for a long time. I didn't see her wash her hands before serving the next customers, nor before she served me the icecream after having hugged the dog. Sandwiches are made without first washing hands or putting on gloves. The hands that make the sandwiches also handle the money. I know that our immunity system needs to be challenged once in a while to stay active, but I wouldn't have wanted to have my trip to Venice to be ruined by a stomach infection. No complaints here. Just popped in for gelato and a coffee (and Prosecco!). Friendly service. The place was clean. Reasonable prices. The gelato was delicious according to the kids. Amazing gelato spot, their fruit gelatos were excellent. They allow you to taste multiple flavors and they aren't cheap about it. They gave me the biggest taste test on multiple flavors and I loved the blueberry and peach. I came with the intent of 1 scoop but ended up getting 2. Would've loved to get this spot again before I left venice, but I visited murano too late...
