I had a really upsetting experience at Murano Gelateria. While waiting for my food to be warmed, the owner aggressively confronted us when we tried to sit at a table, shouting that Take-Away customers cannot sit inside. We had no idea this was not allowed; we even assumed it was a self-service place, as many small shops are. Instead of explaining, he just yelled at us. I felt humiliated and shocked when he repeatedly told us to “go to your country” in front of other guests, without any embarrassment. He even treated his own staff poorly, including the woman preparing my food.
Hearing such discriminatory words in 2025, on a tourist island that should welcome people from all over the world, is beyond ridiculous. This behavior ruined our visit, and it made me feel disrespected and unwelcome. Honestly, not everyone should be allowed to run a business if they treat customers this way. I cannot...
Read moreThis great little ice cream shop is run by two of the hardest-working ice cream churners on the island of Murano. They pay special attention to detail and all of the counters and surfaces look meticulously clean. They are professional and courteous and offer tons of patience while customers decide on their favorite selections. They offer several special Italian-themed flavors with biscotti and salted pistachio being my favorites. Like their ice cream, they also make fresh smoothies and offer other Italian iced desserts that are homemade with fresh, natural ingredients. They are very pro-social media with an instagram account that highlights their hard work. They are quite the popular shop, and rightfully so. You will arrive happy and you'll leave even happier. Whether in a cup or a cone, go get you some of the most delicious ice cream that the Venetian region has...

Gelato Naturale - Museo di Murano, which is 100 meters away, has (almost) equally good ice cream, the scoop portions are a good regular size, and the staff was friendly. At the Murano artisan ice cream parlor, when I noted the tiny scoops, while praising the quality of the ice cream, the staff argued with me, trying to persuade me that top quality ice cream needed to be balanced with small portions, meanwhile making other customers wait. Perhaps she was stressed by a long day and hard work. I wish this shop a long and prosperous existence with more good humor...
