Ristorante Il Bocconcino — Restaurant in Venice

Oh. My. God.

The Panino at Il Bocconino in Murano has absolutely reestablished the high water mark for what a sandwich should be.

I started with a porchetta with formaggio and melanzana (eggplant spread). It was plenty big for any normal human without an addiction to amazing sandwiches (that's me). I went back for seconds and asked for schiacciata (spicy salame) with "chefs choice" of other toppings and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT.

I told this wonderful woman, "vivo qui adesso" (I live here now) and she immediately knew I meant "in her shop". Fly here immediately and eat these panini until you die. I promise you'll die happy.

Highly recommend the Murano Panini, it was SO GOOD. They grilled the outside super toasty and crispy, the cheese inside melts and you can do cheesepulls, so amazing with the 2 sauces ! Cute and tiny little takeaway shop. A good place to try a panini, had the speciality “toast murano” and it was very tasty! Maybe a bit on the pricey side, they sold these little potato cakes that were essentially tater tots for €1 each lol.
