Absolute disgrace to how to behave to clients! Read a review earlier about someone describing as rudest staff they ever met! I second that.
Visited Murano yesterday. Someone recommended this place. The glass making demo was not on. I walked into the showroom with my wife and two adult children, youngest aged 18. We were very keen to buy some original murano glassware to take back to UK.
Within a minute of being inside the shop, one man told us something in Italian. The delivery and tone was sounding threatening. He pointed to the door and repeated it twice more. I asked " are u closing" although this was at 12 noon! He repeated the same thing in Italian gesturing to the door in the same rude tone! We didnt touch any item on display and in fact I was about to buy some glassware. We trooped out and another man followed us out and said" the boss is like this sometimes , unpredictable, sorry , we are not closed, but he said so to you" !!!
We left and bought stuff from a larger shop just beyond this. They had a larger showroom , more than twice the size of this store with larger variety of items and fantastic staff, who patiently explained the items, prices and even recommended some stuff which are good as gifts. Total contrast to the rude " boss " of this shop!!
I would strongly recomend to avoid this shop and choose somewhere you will get some respect as a customer or at least as a fellow human being who just wandered into a showroom you opened to sell your stuff!!!
It was an insulting experience. Never had that in my life.
Totally understand the comment by the earlier person " please keep your goods" ....we can always find another place observing basic courtesy in their behaviour...
Read moreThe worst experience I’ve had in all my years of traveling to other countries, and the worst people I’ve ever encountered in any business. At Vetreria Guarnieri, there’s an open area near the entrance where you can see their glassmaking process from a distance. I stood there for about three minutes watching — there are no signs indicating that you can't observe or that you're not allowed in that area, since it's literally at the shop’s entrance. They aggressively push you to pay for a demonstration — something that is free in many other glass shops in Murano. When they saw that I wasn't paying for the demo and hadn’t bought anything yet (I actually was planning to), the man who appears to be the owner's grandson - who seems to have serious anger issues - literally kicked us out of the store, yelling and swearing at us in Italian.
After this experience, I looked into it more and realized that mistreatment seems to be common at this shop. I’ll just say this: If you don’t want to be treated like a criminal, and if you don’t want to give your money to rude, disrespectful people, don’t go to this place. There are far better glassmakers in Murano who treat visitors with kindness and proudly show their craft to inspire purchases. That’s how business...
Read moreSurprised to see some negative reviews on here. Especially considering it’s rated as the number one attraction in Murano on TripAdvisor. We found it to be very good and perfect with two young children who wanted to see the glass blowing in action rather than a long winded history lesson.
We arrived just as a demonstration was starting and we sat down and watched the guy make a jug and horse statue. Really clever, really insightful and just the perfect amount of time (approx 15 mins). The man showed the kids the sand that is used to create the glass. Then invited the kids up for pictures holding the tools and standing in front of the glass ornaments, with the furnace in the background. Perfect for...
