The chef’s ingenuity shines through in every detail of this meal, a masterful fusion of the refined artistry of Japanese kaiseki cuisine with the vibrant, fresh seafood ingredients of Venice. Traditional soy sauce is replaced by the bold, salty depth of marinated anchovies, infusing the dish with a Mediterranean flair, while locally produced yuzu pepper sauce steps in for wasabi, lending a bright, invigorating spiciness that refreshes the palate. The richness of creamy white sauce gives way to the gentle umami of Japanese miso, showcasing the nuanced layers of Eastern seasoning. Italian spaghetti takes the place of soba noodles, and though it lacks the latter’s ability to soak up sauce, the chef’s clever sauce design ensures that the durum wheat delivers a crisp, memorable texture that lingers on the tongue. For dessert, matcha powder reimagines the classic tiramisu, deconstructing tradition while infusing it with an Eastern elegance—coffee’s intensity replaced by the subtle grace of matcha—crowning this meal with an unforgettable finale.

The wine pairing, though not listed on the menu, follows a conventional progression: starting with sparkling wine, transitioning to white, and concluding with red. While it doesn’t perfectly harmonize with the umami-rich and savory dishes, it remains a commendable showcase of local natural wines, reflecting their terroir-driven purity and adding a touch of unadorned beauty to...

This place very needlessly does things to be different and creative, which I can appreciate, however the execution was not good and the servings were very small. Not great value and the creations weren't elevated to the same level as similar style restaurants. More details 👇

Tried the option of 7 chef's appetizers chosen as a surprise. Each portion was the equivalent of a small bite of food. Barely enough for one person and impossible to share. Only 2/7 dishes were good, with the beef stew as a standout. The rest are forgettable. Had the gyoza dish which was by far the best thing I tried and mainly because they weren't trying to reinvent the dish and just kept it straight forward (5⭐). Then had the pork "tacos" which they made as a thin slice of pork on a cracker. I would have appreciated this unique take more but the pork wasn't even cooked well and it was very dry (2⭐). Lastly, had the udon and the noodles were a good texture with the broth very flavourful but a little too salty (3⭐). For their dessert, their take on a "deconstructed" tiramisu was a mess. Barely any coffee taste, lady fingers were dry and hard, they added chunks of banana and some other fruit that didn't fit at all. Completely bastardized a classic Italian dessert dish (1⭐).

I sat outside because the restaurant was very cramped and busy. the street was pretty dead and dark. I did appreciate that they brought out a light to make...

This was definitely a more risky pick of ours. I mean, who would go to Venice just to eat Japanese food? Especially when they can get better ones back home 😂. Well here we are... The main reason why we picked this spot was because it's an actual Japanese chef making Venetian-inspired Japanese food. The food was absolutely delicious with a couple small caveats. The scallops and foie gras chiceti was salty. We did like how they used shaved foie gras though. Monkfish was fried well and was enough for the two of us; however, we did 2 orders... whoops! The swordfish rolls were DIY and I can confidently recommend it! The swordfish was marinated well.. they also gave us wasabi.. Simply 10/10 dish. The ramen was really expensive.. I know ramen dishes are meant to be simple but 19 euros for a bowl is very hard to swallow. The eggs were a bit overcooked.. It also should've come with more "luxurious" toppings at this price. We thought each dish would barely be enough for one person so we pretty much ordered two of everything. We were so WRONG. I recommend just sharing and saving your money (and stomach).

Venezia, porto e porta rivolto verso l’Oriente.
