We stopped here to grab a cold drink. We started with a local IPA and a Select Spritz (Venice's version of the Aperol Spritz: slightly less sweet and just a touch more bitter. Try it!) We found it to be a nice atmosphere and the service was good. There are two lovely employees, Chiara and Rebecca, who made our experience extra special. They were so friendly and helpful, and when I asked what the fresh herbs were used for, Rebecca made us an incredible gin and basil drink that was not on the menu. Who knew that there is a local gin?! It is one of the best cocktails I have ever had. So much so, that we came back a few hours later for another round. Brioche stuffed with ham and cheese, sandwiches, etc. Then I ask him for a brioche stuffed with ham and cheese and if it could be hot, he says yes. He brings it to me cold, I get up and he takes it to see if it is possible for him to warm it up for me, with a bad face and without saying a word he takes it from me to warm it up. He gives it back to me...
Read moreOzio is a locally family owned bar and cafe that I frequented during my trip to Venice this December, 2023. Their natural wine list is extensive, affordable, and delicious. The owners are sommeliers and are frequently onsite to run operations and take care of customers. I wasn’t sure what to order and the staff made excellent recommendations. The bar has both inside and outdoor seating and is settled inside a square called Santa Maria Formosa which is an excellent view. The Ruzzini Palace Hotel is also just a stone’s throw away. I recommend Ozio at any time of day. Their morning/early afternoon vibe is energetic and vibrant while their evening vibe is causally sophisticated, romantic, and cheerful. Overall, the drinks, food, and service were incredible and I can’t wait...
