I have always wanted to try Steak House 88. My overall experience was great! This experience is based on a solo visit, on a Saturday evening, between 7-8pm. When you enter into the restaurant they have a sign-in roster for you to complete with the number of adults/children and the party’s name. Depending on the time of day that you go to the restaurant, I would say to expect a wait of 15 to 20 minutes.
You will be called by the friendly hostess, who will guide you to your table, provide you with a paper menu, rules, water, and utensils. The paper menu displays the photos, weight, and price of the food but you order everything on the electronic pad that’s already at the table.
Once you place your order, you can visit the salad bar. The salad bar has soup, rice, and salad. This is included with your meal when you order steak. Also, they have a drink bar and ice cream bar that is separate and includes a small cost. I did not indulge in the drink and ice cream bar, but the Mushroom soup was delicious.
By the time you finish enjoying the salad bar, your hot and sizzling steak should arrive at the table with a side of mash potatoes and corn. I will caution you that the steak comes unseasoned, but they have seasoning and sauces at the table for you to season the steak to your liking. I had the Waygu Steak and it was cooked just right (medium-well done) and very tender.
Steak House 88 has some good vibes and it was worth the wait because the service is fast. The price may vary depending on the items you order. The staff is very friendly and professional. There is booth seating for 4 to 6 people. If you find yourself in Depot Island and want to try something new, I recommend stopping by...
Read moreWent here on a whim with the wife and son. The worst thing we've eaten in okinawa and it isn't even close. We order the tenderloin and flap steak. The tenderloin was decebt enough but small, the flap steak was inedible. It clearly had been sourced cheaply and hadnt been hung enough, it had a very livery taste, i couldnt eat more than two bites and i had to wash my mouth out with the beer to get the taste out. Speaking of the beer, very very noticeably watered down. My son had the 'minute maid' orange juice, which wasn't minute maid at all and was so bad that he pushed it away and drank the water instead.
Fhe ateak comes with green beans and sweetcorn, both frozen. Terrible.
My son had chicken nuggets and fries, the nuggets were an order of magnitude worse than macdonalds, and thats saying something, he ate two bites. The fries were decent. The salad bar was sparse, minetsrone soup that seemed more like a beef stock than a soup of any kind, and chopped cabbage, which was fine. The rice was also fine.
The price was about $100. An absolutely stunning price for the low quality food and drink. We certainly won't be going back and i advise others go elsewhere if they want a decent steak. Certainly if they want a decent beer with their food. Don't take children though, the childrens...
Read morePlease avoid visiting this restaurant as it may negatively impact your dining experience. Our recent visit was quite disappointing. We ordered medium-rare steaks, but they were overcooked and turned out well-done. Upon requesting a replacement, we were served rare steaks instead. Additionally, the steaks lacked seasoning and flavor, and they were not tender at all. It was truly the worst steak I have ever had in my entire life. Moreover, there was a bug on our table, which made us uncomfortable while eating. Considering the subpar quality of the food and service, we felt that spending almost $90 for two steaks was not justified. Therefore, I cannot recommend this restaurant based on...
