Hali Hali — Restaurant in Chatan

I had high hopes walking into this breakfast-only restaurant, and while there were a few bright spots, the overall experience left me wanting more.

The eggs and potatoes were definitely the highlights—cooked well and full of flavor. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal didn’t quite measure up. The Spam was overcooked to the point of being dry and tough, and the French toast felt underdone, which made it hard to enjoy. The fried chicken, while promising in appearance, lacked seasoning and depth of flavor.

As for the homemade lemonade—it tasted more like something bottled from a factory than something fresh-made in-house. Adding flavor syrups made it overly sweet, so having water on hand was a must.

This place has a great concept and the kind of vibe that makes you want to love it. But for a restaurant that specializes in breakfast, there were quite a few missed opportunities. I wouldn’t rule out giving it another try, depending on the day—but as it stands, it didn’t quite...

Good breakfast spot though if you are going on the weekend prepare for a difficult time trying to find parking.

We were told to go here for their French pancakes, but by the time we were there they were sold out. So instead we tried the following items:

American pancakes 4 stars They are generally a good pancake, but not something I would want to deal with the parking situation for.

And the popular breakfast....

French toast with bacon 4.25 stars I will say the French toast was a five star item but the bacon and eggs were more 4-4.5 for me. The food arrived lukewarm which didn't help. The fries though we're disappointing and get a 2.5. they were starchy and dry on the inside, not really crisp on the outside.

Service was a bit difficult. We were told to ring the bell. We did, twice, but received no service. We ended up needing to flag the server down.

I'll give this place another chance and hopefully I'll try the item they are supposed to be...

I’ve been coming here since 2020 and have always loved this place. The food, atmosphere, and genuinely friendly staff have consistently made it one of my favorite spots.

A while back, I was disappointed to see the introduction of a QR code ordering system, it felt impersonal and took away from the warm, welcoming experience that makes this restaurant so special. I even left a review expressing that concern.

I’m happy to report that the QR code system is gone, and the traditional ordering experience is back! I brought some friends here for the first time today, and they absolutely loved it. The staff was as attentive and kind as ever, and it felt like things were back to the way they should be.
