Pro tip: not enough seating? Not a problem. Grab a bean bag chair from inside and you can take it to the beach to watch the waves lapping while you eat
This seems to be one of the go to places for acai bowls in okinawa. It's a favorite of the local transplants. When I came I tried the toast. You get two pieces for 1250 y I believe. My friend treated me I chose the Avocado toast 3.5-4 stars Peanut butter toast 4-5 stars
I'm not sure if I just haven't been on island long enough but I have noticed an issue with things with avocado. In comparison to the states it lacks flavor/punch that I'm used to. I'm not sure if that's just a general okinawan preference or what else might be going on. The peanut butter and honey is great for what it is. Aesthetically more playing than the avocado and the flavor is in the right spots for me. The honey is a nice touch though makes it a tad sticky. The only reason why I haven't given this a 5 star is will I crave it?? 5 stars means I love it so if I do end up going back repeatedly I will upgrade the rating. I did find it on the pricier end for what you got which is why it didn't get an auto 5 cause value can do it too. Also I do need to try the acai bowls and the smoothies yet. I think this place does not have decaf coffee as I didn't see it...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Happy Bowls, a delightful Brazilian açaà restaurant nestled in the heart of Okinawa, Japan. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere, which perfectly blends Brazilian flair with Okinawan charm.
The menu is a delightful journey through Brazilian cuisine, with the star of the show being the aƧaĆ bowls. I tried the āOMG Bowlā, which was nothing short of spectacular. The aƧaĆ was perfectly smooth and refreshing, topped generously with fresh fruits, granola, and a drizzle of honey. Each bite was a burst of flavor and a perfect balance of sweet and tangy.
Beyond the açaà bowls, the restaurant offers a variety of smoothies that are equally impressive. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure that every aspect of our dining experience was enjoyable.
What truly sets Happy Bowls apart is their commitment to quality and authenticity. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are vibrant, transporting you straight to Brazil with each bite. If you're in Okinawa and looking for a unique and delicious dining experience, I highly recommend visiting Happy Bowls. Itās a true gem that brings a taste of Brazil to Japanās beautiful...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered an aƧai bowl and a two slices of avocado toast with egg on both. I was eating my aƧaĆ bowl at there tables and a worm had fallen down in one of my slices of toast. I returned the slice and my dish and the lady said āhave a good dayā I said āI donāt mean to be a pain but do you think it would be possible to re-make one slice since a worm dropped down in it? And she asked me if the worm was in it when it was served, she then continue to reply with āno sorry my manager wonāt let meā she wasnāt rude at all, but seriously? Thatās super ridiculous. So first she said that she added extra in my aƧaĆ bowl for my son and I ( so her manger allows that for free) but to re make a slice of toast is too much to ask for. So I didnāt eat my toast and it had to go into the trash. (Mine you I did try and get the worm off and it wasnāt coming off so I couldnāt save it)
I will never eat here again. Thatās how you loose customers, i understand life happens but dang? Iām already paying $25 for 2 slices of bread with avocado on it with egg including an aƧai bowl and you canāt even re make one slice of toast? I felt like I completely wasted my money. And I wonāt ever go...
