Sai's Izakaya — Restaurant in Chatan

First time here in Okinawa and stumbled upon this restraunt, so glad we did and this restraunt feels more like a 5 stars instead of 3.9 stars. Highly recommend this izakaya restraunt and everything we ordered was really good. Overall, i don’t see why there aren’t more people in the restraunt during dinner. Possibly because of the location, maybe because it’s a Monday night. Nonetheless, highly recommend any tourist that comes as this izakaya gives you a really authentic experience. It was my best meal in Okinawa so far.

We opted for the all you can eat buffet which includes more than 60 food items and free flow drinks( alcoholic too). Furthermore, the service staff was super polite and accommodative, making my family’s experience much better.

Here are some of the food we ordered: Fried chicken karage 9/10. SUPER duper crispy and the mayonnaise that came together with it was perfect. Sashimi Carpaccio 8/10 - 4 types of sashimi including salmon, tuna, squid and swordfish, paired with a tangy sauce Pan fried gyoza 9.5/10 - super tiny bite sized gyozas that are super crispy and tasty Yakitori 9.5/10 - Yakitori came as a set of 5 and included gizzard, heart and sausage which we didn’t want, hence asked the staff if we could get 5x chicken and 5x pork belly instead and they were open to it. Meat was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Highly recommend this!! Mochi 9/10 - We were pleasantly surprised with this mochi as it was deep fried instead of the typical. Orion Beer 10/10 - As a tourist, Okinawa’s Orion Beer is served cold and has fruity notes to it. ordered 4...

Sai's has an amazing deal for unlimited food and alcohol it's under 4,000 yen and you get 3 hours to satisfy your hunger. I'm a solo English speaking traveler and the staff were so kind and happy to work with me to figure out exactly what I wanted. I have very poor japanese so I was a little nervous but the staff easily communicated with me through a translation app and even showed me how to convert the tablet to English. The food came out fast and the alcohol came almost instantly. I would definitely come to eat again especially with how friendly the staff are and how delicious the food and drink was. I would say the only thing to keep in mind is this isn't a place that has a huge selection of sushi they have tuna and salmon but if you want lots of variety I would suggest going to a conveyor belt or restaurant specifically for that style of food. Every single time I go to Sai's, the staff has been polite and welcoming! The food is excellent, although sometimes the yakitori has a little too much salt for my taste but otherwise excellent and made to order.

I honestly do not understand the claim that they turn away foreigners from another reviewer. My husband, our friends and myself have bot been treated any differently due to language differences. They've been friendly.

If you're willing to spend a little more for quality foods, I cannot recommend them enough! It is pretty busy at times. Be aware that it is an izakaya so it tends to be loud at times but...
