This restaurant does cater to vegans/vegetarian and people with allergies that are not free. They have many options that you can choose from here.
Protip: the garlic cheese naan was excellent. The crunchy little garlic chips added texture to the flavorful naan. So 5/5 for that garlic cheese naan I did the chef special which included
Butter chicken 4 stars It's a burst of flavor. I felt it was more tomato forward. Solid dish
Chicken King curry? 3 stars I did not prefer this dish. If you like a sweeter Curry, this might be your thing. And it's not that I don't like sweet curries, just this one didn't do it for me. I also think that I don't like things that are heavy on the cardamom flavor, which I think this might have been. If you like that, you should like this
Tandoori chicken 4 stars This is what you would expect. Tenderary chicken should taste like. It was a solid option but not blow my mind which is why it got a four
Other chicken?? I think It said King chicken 4.5. starts I like the texture on this one more than the other tindery or the chicken that was in the currys.
The meal does not come with rice. Most things seem a la carte to customize how you will. It's good if you don't want to pay for the rice because it's already built into your meal, but if you expect rice then it feels like you're paying extra. The prices here are also higher than my favorite Indian place. I added a salad (3 stars) It was fine. The pineapple was interesting. It was pretty tightly compacted into tiny bowl it was in. When I started taking the cabbage out it kind of got everywhere. I added a Lassi (4 stars) Again, very standard. I enjoyed it . I added the rice as well, though I found it kind of odd how it came out. It was spread a bit along the plate which is not my preference since I like my rice hot and that cools down...
Read moreTucked away in the vibrant heart of American Village, Bollywood Dreams Restaurant immediately transports you with the inviting aroma of freshly prepared curry as you walk through the door. It’s a nostalgic scent that took me back to my days working at the House of India, where I learned to cook chicken tandoori, vegetable curries, and other classic Indian dishes.
Having dined at several Indian restaurants across Okinawa, I can confidently say that Bollywood Dreams tops them all. I’m usually hesitant to order mutton or chicken at other places, fearing they might not be as fresh as I’d like. But here, every dish I tried was bursting with freshness and authentic flavor. I essentially ordered almost everything on the menu, and each plate exceeded my expectations.
The highlight was definitely the mango lassi, creamy, sweet, and perfectly refreshing. It truly sealed the deal, making this my new favorite Indian spot on the island. The quality of the food, combined with the warm, welcoming atmosphere, makes Bollywood Dreams a perfect place to gather with friends and enjoy a flavorful journey through Indian cuisine.
I’ll definitely be returning regularly. If you’re craving authentic Indian food in Okinawa, Bollywood Dreams is...
Read moreThe food here is absolutely delicious and the servers are so friendly and helpful. It can get busy and the staff is small so you may have to be patient but the food is well worth it. While it’s not a vegan restaurant, there are numerous vegan options here — just make sure to tell the staff so they use plant-based butter/yogurt. Vegan options include veggie samosas, masala fries, vegan naan, veggie basmati rice, pumpkin curry, spinach curry, vegetable masala, and vegan butter chicken. I imagine they can make a vegan chana masala as well, but I’ve never asked. When I say these items are all delicious, and consistently delicious, I mean it. The vegan butter chicken is the most popular plant-based item (and the one they advertise the most) but the other curries are just as good in my opinion in their own right. The naan is incredible and always made hot to order and now I’m getting hungry for Bollywood Dreams so I need to stop writing...
