Uoshige — Restaurant in Fujiyoshida

This is the best restaurant in the Fuji Five Lake area. So if anyone come visit Mt Fuji, you should try this seafood restaurant, highly recommend! We came in for dinner after our sunset viewing of Mt Fuji from Arakurayama Sengen Park. The owner warmly welcome us and made best seating for us. The seafood set meal was excellent along with premium sake. The set comes with a full variety of fresh sashimi, rice on the bottom, soup,pickle and dessert on the side. All at a very reasonable price. The dinner was so satisfying that we had to come the next evening. The owner quick seated us even though the restaurant was full at the time. Owner’s beautiful daughter processed the live shellfish on a cutting board in front of us. To show his hospitality, the owner brought sakura mochi to us as treat. On our way out, owner’s daughter came to the door, gave us hugs and said goodbye. What a lovely and unforgettable experience here! You will not find such level of service and food in Tokyo or Kyoto. 10/5 stars!!! Sorry we couldn't make it back the next day but if we ever come to Fuji again, we will definitely come by!!! Hands down one of the best meal we had throughout our 3 weeks stay in Japan. The owner is really kind and has a good pair of hands to make wholesome food with precision. A work of art; It's so satisfying to look at the fine cuts, bringing out the flavour of each and every pieces. There were other options available for those that don't fancy sashimi at very affordable prices. We arrived really early not knowing the opening time but the owner kindly accepted us let. We had such a wonderful experience at Uoshige! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner, which already set the tone for a cozy, family-owned atmosphere. They even went above and beyond by bringing out a bassinet so our baby could be comfortable while we enjoyed our meal — such thoughtful hospitality!

We ordered the mackerel, sashimi boat, shrimp tempura, and donburi bowl, and every single dish was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The sashimi, especially, was melt-in-your-mouth good and beautifully presented. You can really taste the care and quality in everything they serve.
