七輪焼五丁目 — Restaurant in Fukuoka

I recently dined at a yakiniku restaurant in Fukuoka with a friend, and we had a rather mixed experience. While the food quality was impressive and the prices were reasonable, my interaction with the staff, particularly a Japanese lady, left much to be desired.

From the moment we arrived, it felt like we were met with indifference. After asking for an English menu, the staff member insisted on providing us with a Chinese menu after inquiring about where we were from. While we are from Hong Kong, that does not guarantee that we could read the menu fluently. It would have been more accommodating to offer us an English menu or at least ask what we preferred.

When we ordered Kaku highball, the Indian staff member understood us perfectly, but the Japanese lady's response was dismissive. She seemed frustrated when explaining that "kaku" and "highball" are distinct, despite the fact that various types of highballs are served throughout Japan, including the standard Kaku highball, which is simply a mix of Suntory whisky and soda. Her long face and impatient tone suggested that our status as tourists was somehow a burden to her.

It's worth noting that, as a party of two, we ordered six alcoholic drinks along with a variety of dishes, and we maintained good manners throughout our meal. I genuinely couldn't understand what had upset her.

In summary, while the restaurant offers quality food at competitive prices, the service experience was marred by the unreasonably impolite behavior of one staff member. I hope they consider training their staff to provide a more welcoming atmosphere for all customers, regardless of their...

This was the best place we went to in our whole trip!!!

The food was amazing, we ordered a lot of delicious meat. The owner was super fun! We communicated with the little Japanese I know and his English, and we had a lot of fun with the other people in the restaurant! We shared sake, soju and curiosities from Japan, Spain and Korea. 100% the best experience, got to see some surf photos of the owner as well.

I cannot recommend this place enough, it will be the best and most fun...
