Managed to get a reservation by our hotel a day before. The restaurant is well decorated and the dim lighting creates a cozy environment to enjoy a nice teppanyaki meal.

Ordered the Miyazaki A5 ranked top quality Chateaubriand and sirloin set. The meal is delicious from the starter to dessert.

A Miyazaki A5 Wagyu teppanyaki meal featuring both chateaubriand and sirloin is the epitome of luxury dining, showcasing the highest grade of Japanese beef renowned for its marbling, tenderness, and deep, buttery flavor. Here’s a vivid description:

The Chateaubriand

The chateaubriand, cut from the tenderloin, is a prized center-cut fillet known for its incredible tenderness. In this preparation: • The meat is gently seared on a high-heat teppan grill, ensuring a golden crust that contrasts the soft, almost melt-in-your-mouth texture. • Seasoned minimally with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper to let the beef’s natural umami shine. • Served medium-rare, its velvety texture pairs beautifully with a dollop of wasabi or a light soy-based dipping sauce, enhancing the flavor complexity without overpowering it.

The Sirloin

The sirloin offers a slightly firmer texture and more pronounced beefy flavor, enhanced by the same world-class marbling. • Grilled with precision to create a caramelized crust while keeping the center juicy and pink. • Served thinly sliced for an elegant presentation, paired with optional condiments like garlic chips, ponzu sauce, or a hint of yuzu kosho for a citrusy kick.

Accompaniments

To balance the richness of the beef, the meal often includes: • Seasonal Vegetables: Lightly grilled asparagus, zucchini, shiitake mushrooms, and onions add a fresh, earthy contrast. • Garlic Fried Rice: Cooked on the same teppan, infused with beef drippings, roasted garlic, and soy for a flavorful, aromatic finish. • Clear Soup and Salad: A light miso-based soup and a crisp salad with a sesame or yuzu dressing cleanse the palate between bites. • Pickled Sides: Japanese pickles like daikon or kyuri (cucumber) offer tangy refreshment.

Dessert

Dessert

The meal concludes with a decadent sugary bread and ice cream combination: • A slice of buttery, caramelized brioche or milk bread is toasted on the teppan, creating a crispy golden crust while keeping the inside soft and airy. • Lightly dusted with a touch of sugar, it caramelizes on the hot grill, adding a sweet, crunchy glaze. • Served warm, it’s paired with a scoop of premium vanilla or matcha ice cream, melting slightly over the bread to create a heavenly fusion of warm and cold textures.

This delightful ending perfectly complements the richness of the meal, offering a sweet and indulgent finish.

Superb.

Could've left it at that, but here's a summary of why. Chef may be young but despite the limited English, served our lunch fantastically in all aspects - explained what we were having, watched our progress to determine when to continue with the cooking and serving, and we felt that all the ingredients were done justice.

Small restaurant with limited seating, but it wasn't crowded when we went on a Sunday. Nevertheless, best to make a reservation, as a whole course can take about 60-90 minutes depending on how much you enjoy every chew of the meat. While the lunch process and components differed slightly from the main store on Miyazaki, it was more like the Kobe restaurants that we went to.

As a normal beef lover, Miyazaki beef definitely sits on par with Kobe beef in my rankings. If you are wondering whether there's any truth behind the growing hype around Miyazaki beef, hesitate no more and go let your taste...

1st impression at counter is good. Professional n tactfully asked if we made any reservations, we did not and was asked to wait for 5 mins. However the ordering process was totally a disaster. Waiters came and could not explain what we wanted, even though the menu is in English. We were lucky there was a chef from Singapore and able to get our orders right, with good recommendations. Wasted minutes. The meal was cooked right in front of us n was excellent! The beef was cook just right. Had a great time. However this was dashed when we asked for separate bills. The captian called out each item to us and yet got the amount wrong. Had to waste minutes again to recalculate again n again. He even asked the Singaporean chef to the counter to assist n converse with us. Bad experience after a great meal. Do recommend to book a reservation in advance. 100 grms is...

Went for lunch and had the most amazing time. Ambiance is so calm - chef is incredible and spoke English. We asked our hotel to help us book and they asked our country of origin (I think to pair us with an appropriate chef for communication purposes). The meat was prepared with so much care and tasted incredible. The meal felt well balanced as it came with some starters a salad and dessert. Would highly recommend for authentic Japanese teppanyaki (lunch is more affordable but if you want highest quality go for dinner)
