AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!||This was my first time in Fukuoka, and I was so excited to explore the city! The location of this capsule hotel is phenomenal; you take the subway airport line from Hakata Station to Nakasukawabata Station, and you can either just get out directly at the station and take a half-block walk across the canal and into the giant building with a Gates and Don Quijote, OR you can access the building directly from the subway! It's incredible! I actually walked to the capsule from Hakata Station, and it's a lovely walk (make sure to stop at Canal City!) and completely safe. I'm a girl and walked by myself as the sun was setting and had a great time. Of course, be weary and take the main streets, but all in all a lovely exploratory journey!||||Finding the capsule hotel is incredibly easy. There's a giant Gates grocery store in the basement (omg PERFECT for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks), a Don Quijote on the second floor for whatever else you need, a bookstore/coffee shop, massage places, venues...all sorts of fun things! The capsule hotel is on the 8th floor (or the 7th...there are ads for it all over the place guiding you, so just keep your eyes peeled and you can't miss it!), and you can get there either by taking the escalator, or the elevators.||||Check-in was easy. I knew a little Japanese, but I asked them to explain everything to me in English and they were happy to. Check-in was easy enough: I had to fill out some information about myself, and they gave me my wristband key (which was the key to the safety box in my capsule), and a lanyard with a key card to access the capsules. You need to return everything before you leave the capsule for the day (and then pick it up when you return if you're staying more than 1 night), but it's easy enough and hassle-free!||||Before you enter the capsules, there's a little lounge area with tables, outlets, and a big TV for you to sit and do anything loud, like eating or talking on the phone. Very comfortable; I went out in my PJ's to eat my dinner and make calls and it was pretty homey. There is also a vending machine for sodas and other liquids right on the other side of the security door.||||I stayed in the women's side of the capsule hotel, so I can only attest to that area, but it was INCREDIBLE. It was like your typical capsule experience, but instead of it being an actual capsule (2 feet of overhead space), I could stand up on my bed and my head not touch the ceiling. It was great! There's a large sliding paper accordian-style door thing that you slide down for privacy, and though it doesn't reach the ground, it's low enough that any light from the outside won't bother you too much and you're still completely private. There's not enough room for luggage pieces, but I saw some people lay down their luggage under the accordian door thing and pull down the door until it hits the luggage, so there are options for luggage storage I guess.||||The bed is incredibly comfortable, and the sheets are great. You have your own light and air conditioning controls, and a BIG TV right above the bed with all the Japanese TV you can watch. The staff can give you big headphones at the front desk to watch in the quiet! There's also the safety deposit box that makes up less than half of a shelf unit that stretches the length of the bed. The shelf aspect is great; I put my bottles and gadgets there so they can charge overnight. The safety deposit box is not wide, but it's SUPER deep; I could have fit my backpack and tote bag in there if I wanted. There is also a small rack with hangers for you hang your clothes in your room if you desire.||||They also provide you pajamas, and they're pretty comfy!||||Towels and slippers are also provided for you when you want to walk around without your shoes. Like when you want to go take a shower! Let me tell you, the bathroom area is LEGIT. It's like your typical Japanese style public bath, but it's a little smaller and a lot less crowded than the ones I've been to. Everything is provided for you, and they have both private standing shower rooms AND the public sit-down shower stalls in the same room as the large, warm bath area. That bath was incredible. I still dream about it until this day.||||I ended up staying there for 3 nights and had an amazing time. I would get excited at the end of the day knowing that it meant I had to return to First Cabin! I HIGHLY recommend this play, not only for the friendliness and availability of the staff, but for the sheer cleanliness, ease, and amazing atmosphere of the cabins. I can't recommend it enough. ||||OH, the neighborhood! I almost forgot. The building itself is completely safe, but the area around the building is BUSTLING with nightlife and people at all hours. You won't hear anything from the capsule hotel, nor would you notice it if you go to the building from the subway. But if you do venture outside, there will be a lot of people. Completely safe though. In fact, one of the area's BEST tonkotsu places, Ichiran, is just a block or two away! Definitely recommended for lunch or dinner during your stay.||||Again, highly recommended. I can't wait to...

Read moreThis place is very clean and great value for money. This is ideal for traveling solo (couples may not like this hotel too much since men and women are separated) or a very budget business hotel. I stayed in the Business Class room in November 2017. ||||The room is tiny but clean. It is ideal if you are traveling without very much luggage. While they do have a small storage area, it isn't very large. I believe it is possible to leave large luggage in the storage area at the front desk though. The room is basic. It consists of a large bed that fills up the entire 'room', a large TV hanging over the entrance, a few wall outlets, and blinds to separate you from the outside. Note that there is no door so you can hear people walking around outside. Also, I don't believe any of the rooms have a window.||||The shower and bathroom facilities are shared by all guests, but I found it to be very clean. The public bath is available even in the morning too (imagine a large shared bathtub). ||||Location wise, this is located literally above Nakasu-Kawabata station and is very convenient to travel around. The building itself has a Don Quixote and a supermarket in the basement. Across the street is the Ichiran Ramen main office as well. ||||Depending on your travel needs, I'd recommend to look into this one...
