Sushi Karashima — Restaurant in Fukuoka

I have had this place bookmarked for a while but only decided to make a prepaid reservation recently. At the entrance, the staff greeted me kindly and it seems the website I used to book the omakase ended up overbooking the restaurant. Despite of that the staff kindly and promptly prepared a seat at the counter for me. The course was very delicious. The quality of the dishes was high. They have a great selection of sake. The chef also tried to speak in English to me and made sure my glass was never empty, which made me feel welcome. The lady also showed me translation of the dishes despite being busy with many tasks. A classic wonderful example of traditional edomae sushi. Chef and his father executed everything perfectly, serene quiet interior, ingredients were of perfect quality, and there wasn't a single disappointment.

We booked on pocketconcierge and it was easy, no need to pay anything at the shop. I would highly recommend Sushi Kashima to anyone in the Hakata area who wants a great all around omakase/edomae experience. The Michelin Star is well deserved.
