We patronized the stall last Sunday at about 630pm, just when it opened. Parking was easy, we parked at Daimura just across the road. There were 4 of us and 3 other customers then. Midway through the meal, 4 other customers came and only 1 seat was left.
The owner and staff were really friendly, spoke some English. The atmosphere was great, it was dining on the walkway and next to a major road. You get up close to the cooking and other customers sitting shoulder to shoulder.
We ordered sake, it tasted good, only thing was that it was not chilled, it was at room temperature. The Bitter Melon stirred fried with Tofu and Egg is worth a try, melon was not too bitter. Grilled Skate Fin was good but could have been grilled to a more crispy state. Gyoza was fantastic with the spiciness. Roast Pork Korea Style was ordinary. The ramen is passable, cannot complain. Overall food was good for a street side stall, not the best though.
For the experience of a street stall dining experience and eating local style, it does overcome some of the inadequacies of the food quality.
Prices are very reasonable too which you can see from the menu. Pretty good value for money. Have to try a Ya Tai...
Read moreThe food was not as good as previous yatai we have tried but most importantly, they tried to charge me 7100yen when I have only ordered 4700yen worth! They see that we are foreigners and tried to scam us thinking I would not double check. They sat people behind us before us after having us wait in line for a really long time. That was infuriating but we did get seated soon after and after I pointed that out. This place is Not foreigner welcome and is dishonest. Luckily, I had them itemize our check and we ended up paying the correct amount. But I can tell they were for sure had the intentions of charging us more instead of this being an honest mistake. They just think foreigners are all rich and wouldn’t check so tries to over charge us. The “grilled noodles” was not good at all. The doburi soup was too sweet. The pork dish was too fat. The dish with the bitter melon, egg and tofu barely had any egg in it. Dumpling also not any impressive and the size of the dumplings are really small. Nothing was worth the wait. This place is just not good. Their reviews are probably just from family and friends. Another spot using google to...
Read moreTheir high rating is well deserved, better than the often mentioned yatais in travel stories. LOVE the food (so delicious) n the experience. We ordered the items with pictures on the menu — Bitter Melon Stir Fry with Tofu and Egg, Okinawa Gyoza, Mentaiko Tamagoyaki. I’m sure the other dishes are just as good, going by how much we love what we had. Very affordable prices. The owners were very nice people. It’s a single stall under a tree a short walk from Daimaru. Opens at 6.30pm. ALL THE...
