Friendly staff! My wife and I had tekkadon - very tasty. Fish dishes all have grade choices for varying prices. Only sushi available as the sign on the front door says, but there are vegetable-only sushi options (i.e kappa maki) if someone doesn't want fish. English menu available. A popular sashimi restaurant along the shopping street. The sashimi sets were fresh and well-prepared! Service staff were friendly and relatively quick to serve us. Do note that during lunch hours, there will be a wait to be seated. Great place if you are craving for sashimi and sushi!

箱根湯本のメイン通りに堂々と構える「中村家」は、70年以上にわたって箱根の食文化を支えてきた老舗です。訪れた際にいただいたのは、新鮮なアジと柔らかい穴子の握り。アジは脂が程よく乗り、風味が豊かで、穴子は口の中でほどけるような繊細さが印象的でした。滞在時間は約15分でしたが、歴史を感じさせる静かな店内で時間を過ごすことができました。

一方で、サービスは過度に手を加えることなく、控えめで気取らない接客。観光客だけでなく、地元の人々にも長年愛されている理由がわかる雰囲気です。大正時代から受け継がれる店の佇まいは、箱根の歴史を物語る一角を感じさせ、訪れる人にどこか懐かしさと安定感を与えてくれます。

サービスや味は過度な演出はないものの、伝統を大切にした丁寧な仕事を感じられました。箱根観光の合間に、気軽に歴史ある寿司を味わいたい方にお勧めです。
