Bar & Lounge ZATTA — Restaurant in Hiroshima

Has been a while we visited, made a reservation which worked ( even after the automated voice told me the number I dialed was invalid 🤔). On arrival, bunch of foreigners drinking beer and a tad noisy but hey, it’s a bar. First service staff was quite friendly and attentive but the service degraded with time when staff switched. Genuine hospitality was sorely missed.

Food,we liked the set up, design and flavor of their Cesars salad , unfortunately that is a thing of the past too. A half lettuce, copped in half again, lightly sprinkled with a very thin layer of dressing, a slice of toasted bread, a small piece of lukewarm chicken 😫 Oh, yes, they advertised “Cage free “ egg, guess the tiny sprinkles of yellow sufficed as it but couldn’t taste it at all. And no crispy bacon neither, they forgot.

I like a bit of lettuce but definitely not a big chunk and barely some dressing, naaa, that is a big disappointment.

Felt a bit bad for the poor barman who was running about all over the place as they appear to be woefully understaffed. It wasn't that full but service seemed to take an age and the servers didn't really seem to know what they were doing, constantly asking the barman when he should have just been making drinks. I'd suggest some training for your staff and to make sure you always have a few more senior people around to guide them so that the bartender can do his job. I'm sure they're not bad, they just clearly hadn't been trained. It's a good idea to have the complementary bar snacks ready to go so that as soon as people sit down they are given something, don't wait 10 minutes to do this. Wine and beer should take a few minutes tops to reach the tables not 15 minutes. This was a Sunday night so I'd hate to...

My friend and I had the afternoon tea here a few weeks ago and it was wonderful. The sweets were all really good and not overly sweet (that’s how I like it). The savory items were also delicious. I thought the tea selection was good and all of the teas I ordered were so good that I immediately looked them up online to see if I could purchase them. The service was great.
