Matsubokkuri — Restaurant in Hiroshima

One of the best, if not the best Izakakya places I’ve tried during my Japan trip. The tempura eel and shrimp were delicious and so crunchy! Highly recommend the tatsuga-aged tempura chicken, will raise and set the standard for fried chicken after you have it. Really great sake selection as well. Very local feeling restaurant/izakaya with an English menu. The eel tempura and wagu steak were good. The tomato/advacado salad, and sesame ice cream were just o.k. Note the restaurant charges 'Otoshi' of 500 yen pp, which is essentially a cover charge billed against a small snack they give you with your drink.
