Miyabi Tei — Restaurant in Hiroshima

After about 2 weeks in Japan, I cannot share the huge enthusiasm by many of the other reviewers. We came here based on a recommendation (so not staying at the hotel and thus not benefitting from am 50% discount) and where somewhat disappointed. Other than the steak (photo) which was really good, the food was fine but not spectacular in any way. All the cold sides had clearly been stored in the fridge for some time with the associated taste and also came out too cold. The taste of many of the courses was rather plain, sides for the steak were somewhat greasy. No huge complaints about the service other than cake was substituted with ice cream without notice. The view is pretty nice as long as you don't look down at the brightly illuminated taxi platform of the train station (not their vault of course!). Overall, given that at 100 USD per person this is about 2x the price of a comparable restaurant in Japan, I'd say, go if you stay at the hotel and get...

A good variety of choices from noodles to wagyu with high quality. Family-friendly staff. Stayed in the hotels for a few weeks and never got bored visiting here for dinners.

The portion is not too much but comes with freshness and good presentation. While being upscale and family-friendly may not be easy, this is definitely an achievement...
