okonomiyaki goku — Restaurant in Hiroshima

We happened to walk past this place on the way back to our hotel and it caught our eye, it looked cozy inside with an intimate okonomiyaki cooking experience, so we came back later. It was a short wait outside, apparently it's catching on, and I see why. Once inside we had front row seats to the step by step Hiroshima style layered okonomiyaki preparing process. A small team of 3 were running this whole place and we were salivating with excitement as we watched. We ordered the Hiroshima oysters included in the Goku, no regrets. These folks are magic....

Great place for a sit-down meal and a local speciality. I enjoyed the "show" that is put on by the chefs who were friendly and professional. They were quite attentive to the quality of the okonomiyaki that they were making, as they discarded the dish and restarted from the beginning if they felt it wasn't good enough.

The ingredients were fresh and the food was delicious.
