we chanced upon this shop and it served one of the best home cooked style dishes during our trip. We had the best 唐揚げ (karaage) and どて焼き(doteyaki) however the service ruined the night for us. The lady serving us was really rude and made us felt very unwelcome, our first time encountering such behaviour in Japan. There was a cover charge for foreigners which was acceptable, but our handwritten bill was ¥600 ++ extra. It is a small amount but it definitely did not feel nice. Not sure if it was calculated wrongly or intentional. If foreigners are not welcomed, then a sign on the door can be put up on the entrance like some stores....
