I really liked it here! After doing a lot of activities in the Arashiyama area in the morning, me and my wife were getting pretty hungry for lunch. We decided to check out this place on May 9th, and I'm glad we did!
We were greeted by a very nice staff who led us to a nice table by the window, and gave us an English menu. There were so many great sushi options! I ended up getting interesting looking salmon (or tuna? I forgot oops) rolls that were rectangular shaped, as well as horse mackerel sushi, while my wife got some cucumber and (again forgot if salmon or tuna) rolls. The fish tasted fresh, the rice was really nice, and all of this was definitely filling and a good boost for us to continue our long day of walking all over Kyoto.
I really recommend this place if you want to have some good sushi nearby...

But they eventually let us in after they consulted with the chef. The food here was amazing to say the least. It was a pity their fresh Saba sushi was unavailable as it was sold out. Luckily the pickled option was just as good I’d imagine. The other foods like the grilled unagi were excellent. Also another item to recommend is the INARI sushi. It’s filled with crunchy hemp seeds and some other ingredient. You wouldn’t find anything like it elsewhere in Kyoto.
A reservation at this place is recommended. The staff can speak some English so it’s...
Read moreAfter a busy morning in Arashiyama, we found this place recommended online. We made a reservation with them and were able to be seated within the hour; this is highly recommended as there are only three tables! The location is away from the touristy area of Arashiyama, which allowed for a nice break from the crowds. Service was excellent, and the food was phenomenal — probably our favorite sushi across the whole trip. Nearly everything we ordered was fantastic, but particular standouts were the bonito nigiri (as part of the “B” option) and the Kyoto style salmon roll. Great value for money overall. If you’re able to get a reservation here, it is absolutely worth the...
