Bikkuri Donkey Kawaramachi Sanjo — Restaurant in Kyoto

Me and my girlfriend attended here the other day and the food was nice, however my girlfriend is a vegetarian and when our food came, they brought a meat dish out for her, which then took another 15 minutes for her food to come out, on which, I had eaten mine prior to it going cold.

We ordered a side cheese sauce, but just a heads up, it's quite abit smaller than on the photos, it's not enough to coat your meat (depending on the size you get) in cheese like in the photos, we were going to share it, however it was cold by the time my partners food arrived.

The beer is nice, large stein of it too even for a regular, I'd definitely recommend their cherry beer though, my girlfriend had this and it tasted very nice!

We wouldn't return only because we have found other places to go, but the food was nice and a single vegetarian option for...

Had the gorogoro steak set and, while I did like it, there's much room for improvement. The steak was nicely done, but would have been better if it had been seared on the outside. It lacked salt, and the sauce on the side didn't go with it at all.

The daikon salad was refreshing and the wasabi dressing was delicious. But the corn soup was nothing like I was expecting. It was so sweet it felt like eating a dessert pudding rather than a soup.

Probably should have just ordered the hamburger instead, but can't say I'll be going back.

The window seats have a nice view for people watching, and they also serve a wide selection of desserts and parfaits.

Didn't expect to enjoy bacon and eggs more than at a New York diner, but more refined, in Kyoto. The pork bacon, sausage and eggs were delicious, with an Americano and a frothy pint of draft beer.
