Avoid this hotel like the plague it is. The staff is actively unhelpful and unprofessional. In the same street, 100m away, go instead to the Travelodge Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi [トラベロッジ京都四条河原町]トラベロッジ四条河原町 which is much better for the same price.
After a whole year travelling abroad, by bicycle, from France to Japan, I finally found a hotel where I could not bring my bike, even in the lobby (where they had place, and out of the way), nor in a dedicated room (first hotel in many years without a luggage room or any storage place), nor in my own room I had payed for and which had enough space!!...
The hotel manager came while I was showering, and asked me to put my baggage in the street (yeah, good idea, leaving something worth at least 2000 dollars outside for 4 nights...) I told him I could disassemble the bike, I just needed a safe place – any place inside the hotel would do – to store it, and without giving me any reason, he just flatly said no, even though the bike was not dirty and it wouldn't have taken much space disassembled.

Read moreThis hotel is bargain with its location. We arrived to Sanjo metro station and walked here with our luggage, perfect distance. It took bit time to find entrance, which is several stairs up, so not easy access. Generally location superb.||Staff greeted us warmly, however it felt that there is only one staff member speaking English. Rest solved speaking with Google Translator. Obviously they understood the English. Very nice staff.||Our room was smaller than a tiny. Basically the suitcase had to be opened by the entrance, blocking it. Room offered all necessities, table, fridge, TV (never used) and air condition, which had a sign "do not hung items here". That reveals the only main handicap of the room. There was only four hooks by the entrance. None in bathroom for towel or toiletry bag. Bed was good and firm, perfect for my taste.||Bathroom was small, with deep bath for the shower. Very good shower with high water pressure. Offered amenities were good, big spenders to save plastic. I missed bit a body lotion.||There is no restaurant at the hotel, so no breakfast at premises. Hotel recommends two locations like Tully's, whereto they offer breakfast voucher. We visited Cafe Boulangerie Kyoto, which is close by.||Summary: Super location, recommended without...
