Café Amazon — Restaurant in Kyoto

Gets packed real easily but it’s a wait well worth! Ran by a lovely couple, and has a great selection of mainly toasts and sandwiches. Coffee and cappuccino were good too. All were at pretty average prices.

We had quite a pleasant time with yummy food and soothing music in the background... the interior of the cafe has a very retro style, making our time there especially cosy. 💫 I can’t recommend the Ebi-katsu sandwiches enough!!! 🤤

The location is good too, just a few minutes walk from the Keihan train line. Please don’t hesitate to visit...

Honestly, it was amazing. We liked the matcha au lait (!), omelette sandwich, club sandwich, and matcha float. Coffee was really good, too. Great ambiance in the space.

Edit: It's been 4 months since we visited and we still talk about our visits to Cafe Amazon. I should've mentioned that we went as a group of 7 and they still kindly found space for us when we went. Also, that matcha... you should know, it's habit-forming, and that will follow you back home and you will start to drink...

This cafe dates back to the 1970s. Had breakfast here and there are counter seats on the second floor facing the street or a bar-like setting downstairs. It has nice old-school vibe.

The tamago-sando is pretty good, the egg's texture and flavours are spot on and I like that layer of ketchup that makes their version a little different. You can choose to have a smaller portion. The prices are very reasonable and they open...
