I came to this restaurant about an hour before closing time on a Sunday evening.
Service: I was seated immediately when I arrived. I placed an order directly from the digital menu (which is on a tablet). The staff was friendly and accommodating, allowing me to make a modification to my order. They were very attentive.
Food: I ordered the Plenty of Vegetables Ramen (and they allowed me to remove the slice of pork). I also ordered the karaage (fried chicken). The ramen was good and filling - the vegetables were the perfect consistency, not too soft and not too crunchy. The broth had a nice light flavor. The chicken was ok.
Price: The prices were excellent for the portion size. My party of two ordered two bowls of ramen, gyoza, rice, karaage, a beer, and a soda and the total came to USD $23.46 (April 2024)
Overall this was a good experience and worth visiting if you are craving ramen and you’re...
Read moreGood atmosphere, very welcoming. The food is okay, but For the price, it’s justifiable and I do not regret spending money here. However, I would not pay more for this. Everyone except for the waitress upstairs was good service. I might have come on a bad day as the waitress (upstairs) was rude. We asked politely wether there was a place to leave umbrelllas because we were trying to be considerate and not wet their restaurant. Waitress said NO 2 times aggresively and walked off after she showed us where to sit. We were just trying to be considerate for the place, so this felt like a slap in the face. It was also not busy when I came but the toilet stunk, it was not cleaned recently and running out of toilet paper. This area should be maintained at a standard if the restaurant is not that busy .
Overall not a horrible experience, but...
Read moreCashier doublecharged me for asking me to pay extra cash for the rice ball snack outside, while the snack was already included in the bill I paid with my credit card. I know for sure it was included because I was bragging how great value this meal is to my friends by calculating the prices of each food so I remembered clearly. Even though I told the cashier lady that she overcharged me and asked her to confirm the price, she still rejected by insisting the charge was correct. It was only ¥300yen so I thought whatever and left, but I felt annoyed along the way and it ruined my experience and impression of Kyoto today. Couldn’t just spend 10secs to confirm? This is arrogant attitude to tourists because we can’t speak Japanese so our first instinct is to doubt ourselves not the locals when we are not sure...
