Gion a-n Main Store & Cafe — Restaurant in Kyoto

This is a really lovely cafe with Innovative cakes.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon it between 2pm and 4pm, when most other restaurants are shut in this part of Kyoto.

The staff were very welcoming. There is an English menu and the cakes are quite unique....well....in my opinion as a non-Japanese person.

I particularly liked the idea of the sandwich pastry, where you make you own based on a number of choices. Plus, this option comes with 2 extra cakes from a nice choice and the option of a drink.

Stopped randomly, thought, “a touristy place but I will try”. Ended up enjoying the best Japanese-Western-crossover sweets so far. I am really impressed and am planning to visit again!
